Don't forget Teo Redding in that WR group. Redshirt frosh for next season is very very athletic.

Does anybody know if Madlock is eligible this year? I wasn't sure when he arrived in BG (last year or this year).

I think he's eligible this year...I don't think he ever got to Buffalo and I recall seeing something about him being here a year ago...maybe...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

You can't help but notice the impact players on the roster that do not hail from the state of Ohio. Matt Johnson, Travis Greene, Chris Gallon, Ryan Burbrink, Gehrig Dieter, Gabe Martin, DJ Lynch, and on and on and on...

Signing Day was all about patting ourselves on the back for signing players from Ohio as if there was some sort of gold star that comes with that. There's certainly nothing wrong with it and it shows the strength of your name in-state, but the philosophy should be to get talented players wherever they may be. It doesn't help that Ohio is considered one of the most over-recruited states in the country where it's extremely difficult to find players whose tape hasn't been seen by dozens of D-I schools. It seems silly to bring a staff with ties to California and Texas and not make every effort to apply those connections. We saw a glimpse of it with Clayton Nicholas coming in and hopefully we'll see more.

Recruiting Ohio is important. Recruiting talented players is more important.

Agree to an extent but, I love getting northwest ohio guys because I think it ties us to the population most likely to buy tickets.

Since I once brought up this topic let me just say my concern was that we were losing our " image" if you will in our own state. I have no problem with going out of state but when we only get 3-4 kids from Ohio over several yrs, we lose contacts with some of the best coaches in the Midwest.
I go out most Fridays with a group of friends to see a " game of the week"and saw a heck of a lot of solid FB players, many of which signed with other MAC schools in addition to the "power conf. Schools.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
