18,000+...those that were there, accurate? It looked decent on ESPN3, especially the students. BEAT IU

Seemed higher than what looked to actually be there. But then again, in past years we've had many more than what we had yesterday only to have it announced much smaller, so who knows. My guess would have been close to 14,000 actual. As always, West side was pretty full, East side not so much. I really wish there was a way to balance that out some. A crowd of 15,000 on TV for our homes games looks like we have 2,000 there because the East side is always so much less filled (unless we sell out). If we reversed the camera angle we'd look like we were close to sold out for anything over 10,000 because so many more sit on the West side.

Play night games...like 8:00. That's the only way to even that up because sitting in the East stands sucks looking back into the sun. As long as we're playing afternoons/evenings nobody's going to sit over there when there are seats available on the West side.

As for the attendance I don't think there were more than 12k actually there, but I never guess accurately so what the hell do I know.

I have had seats on the EAST side since the stadium was built, and don't mind the sun at all, especially with a nice BG baseball cap on. On cool/cold days it can be a BIG plus, not to mention that they lowered the price for east side seating this year in comparison to the west.

A loooooong time ago, the east side was the home side of the field, so I grew up sitting on the east side.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

It would look so much better, but I wonder if that's possible, given the angle of the sun. ESPN might flat out veto that idea. The cameras might not be able to handle it, but I'm speculating.

18,000-plus is a nice number. It didn't look nearly that full on TV. Perhaps a lot of people bought season ticket packages but skipped this game given the choice between VMI and the Black Swamp Festival, with Indiana about to come to town.
