33:26 TOP, 219 rushing yards...

With a solid D effort leads to the win. Kudos to Joe Davidson and Ty Tate for solid ST play. And Clint Stephens and Nick Johnson...two freshmen DB's playing huge. BTW, Travis Greene was on the sidelines in the 2nd half with a boot on his left foot. Not a good sight. Hoping this boot was just a precaution.

Mike,
Good seeing you at the game... FWIW Ronnie Moore had a similar boot on at last game..hopefully Travis is a quick healer...he's always been pretty durable for a 180 lb. Guy. Surprised when he went down...but Fred Coppet picked up the slack. When HE went down, it gave Andre Givens a shot and he took advantage to say the least. I honestly feel we haven't used him enough, and I still recall the recruiting hilites that Dave Clawson showed us a couple of yrs ago....remember?

Just an observation but I felt BG ran the ball better under center than in the shotgun last night. Hopefully we continue to see more of that.

Travis tweeted me after the game that his ankle was "good". I'm sure that means he will be in the lineup next week. ;)

Good to see that we have the versatility to overcome the elements....I don't think you can win in the MAC in November if you can't run the ball.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Last night's game reminded me a lot of our last game at Akron two years ago. In that one we were down 10-0 at halftime and Clawson said the team literally started/developed an identity in the lockerroom that they were going to become physical and run the ball. We came out that second half and killed them with the run and our defense shut them out in the second half and we won 24-10 and went on a streak. Seeing us have two 100-yard rushers yesterday and the defense play well nearly the entire game was essentislly the same recipe again.

The gameplan last night was great, I love that we committed to the ground game. We had sort of gotten away from that the last few games. In MAC country in November you have to run the ball to win.

Good seeing ya too, Den. Yeah I remember those hi lights of Givens. Wasn't he an osu recruit at one time? Out of Hubbard, Oh. We have as good a stable of backs as anyone. OL blocked well and that was fun to see us ram it down their piehole.

I like the way this team is growing up. I don't see nearly the amount of stupid penalties now. After all the negatives, the positives are getting stronger.

I agree with this. This team self-destructed a lot in those first few games; they have gotten much better at avoiding stupid penalties -- unsportsmanlike conduct and that kind of thing.

100% concur. As much as he's made out to be a "system" coach he's also witnessed the disastrous results of the misapplication of that system (not running clock against Wisconsin) and has become more of a realist in regards to both what we have to work with and what we need to do to win.

The bad weather and the struggles of the passing game practically demand a stronger running game. We do so much better when we pull the guards, get a fullback in the mix and generate some downhill momentum as opposed to the minimal-to-negative results when we just hand it off from the shotgun and see the defenders engulf people before they can take a step.

Run power for the next 3 weeks and save the flashiness for when we get indoors in Detroit.
