Congrats Urban!
Congrats Urban!
I got to spend some time around Urban Meyer when he was coach at BG. Class act. Congratulations to him and the Buckeyes tonight! Bowling Green was referenced more than once during the telecast.

Re: Congrats Urban!
Absolutely! Urban did so much for BGSU and continues to put out there his beginnings as a head coach at Doyt Perry Stadium. Tim Tebow interviewed him for ESPN and you can see in his office that he has a helmet for everywhere he has been a head coach and what helmet was front center and in the middle? BG.
Urban is a class act and one hell of a freaking football coach. Congratulations to him, his family and the Ohio State University. Great win for Ohio, and in some respects, BG.
Roll Along, Urb!

He's a great ambassador for Bowling Green and I still believe players want to come here because he got his start at BG. He's a helluva coach and undoubtedly earned that national championship.

Re: Congrats Urban!
Impressive win despite 4 TOs.
I was watching the OSU-Indiana BBall game the other day and Dakich was talking about Meyer. He said they're still friends and still neighbors in BG. That surprised me (edit...the still living in BG part, not the still friends part) but I thought it might be a good selling point to recruits on how nice it is to live in BG. Might be more of selling point to their parents but still a good angle to sell to recruits and their families. I'm sure Meyer has other properties elsewhere but no need to mention that.

That's not what he said. He said they WERE neighbors when they WERE both at BG.Siborg wrote:Impressive win despite 4 TOs.

Re: Congrats Urban!
I remember Dakich talking about that once. He specifically mentioned the time he had THE surgery done. He purposely scheduled the dates of his procedure to occur so he could then watch The Masters or the US Open and Shelli Meyer brought over magazines and puzzles for Dakich.Redwingtom wrote: That's not what he said. Most guys I know schedule that surgery right before the opening rounds of the NCAA tourney.

Congrats to Urban...and that's as far as I'll go. Too bad he's coaching the evil empire in Cbus. But he is clearly one of the best coaches in college football.

I think he's the best and quite possibly the GOAT....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I've said for awhile that I think he has been the best coach in college ball since day one on BG's campus.Flipper wrote:I think he's the best and quite possibly the GOAT....
I was pissed when he left as well but I get it. Now looking back I'm just happy to say that for two years we had the best coach in college football. And has flipper said in the conversation for best of all time.
