But beating the larger schools requires the best coaching possible. Why wouldn't the competitive nature extend to competing to keep our most prized assets on campus for as long as possible, or at least until a championship is achieved like at Buffalo, CMU and NIU? Thinking a school with 5 times the resources will be tough for us to beat is at least as defeatist and doom-and-gloom as acknowledging that a school with 3 times the resources (like Utah) will poach a talented coach and there's nothing that can be done about it.Flipper wrote:mscarn... being able to understand that a coach is going to move on to a bigger job is in no way, shape or form at odds with wanting to play schools from the bigger conferences. Understanding that a coach is going to want more $$$ and a higher profile is logic...wanting to play larger schools is part of a natural expression of a competitive nature.
