Here is what a Maryland Football beat writer thinks of the game this week.

Maryland did a lot of things well last week, most notably running the ball. They ran for 341 yards on 45 cares and scored 3 touchdowns. The Terps' return game was also something that went extremely well for Maryland as junior Will Likely racked up 296 return yards and scored a TD.

Some insight from a MD fan....

This game should be interesting on many fronts. Your offense has many of us very nervous and rightfully so. Should be a good match up as our strength this year is suppose to be our DB's and Safeties. Likely is only 5'7 so you will have an advantage there but he plays like he's 6'. He will play on Sunday's in nickel packages, etc. What will be interesting is our other CB. Davis was a 3 year starter at safety but wanted to move to CB so they did late last year. Big physical DB who will press at the line. If your WR's get separation like last week, could be a long day. Our two safeties are both experienced. Our nickel corners have both started in the past so we should have 6 db's on the field experienced enough to play. I still expect BG to put 35 on the board. I do however think you will see more 8-10 play drives as opposed to what you did against TN.

On offense, the story line for us to watch is our QB. Hills was considered 3rd string coming into fall camp. We have 2 gunslingers in Daxx (Ok St. xfer) and Rowe who were thought to be #1 and #2. Edsall at times makes us all scratch our heads and somehow Hills came out of camp as the #1. He missed BADLY on a few throws last week in which were sure fire TD's. Our game should have been much uglier than our score represents. If he misses in the 1st quarter, you will likely see a QB change. For us Maryland fans, this is actually our hope so if you see Rowe come into the game, you should expect a QB with zip and can pass, which will only improve our running game.

Finally, antoher storyline for us will be our OL. We have a red fresh who was a 5* in HS. He was our starting RT in fall but got a concussion. He played the final 3 series last week so not sure if he starts but should play. He is 328 lbs and moves well. If he does play, our OL will gain additional strength as our RT then goes back to his normal position of LG. We have another 4* red fresh at LT *(Gray who is 325 lbs) but he was just cleared for practice this week after shoulder surgery. He may or may not see the field. Our current LT is a former walk on but is our best technician.

RE has many in Maryland who are still doubters but the one thing he's done with the help of Strudawa (BG guy) is build up our OL. He red shirted his two blue chippers last year when he very well could have burned their ships for the sake of the program. It's starting to pay dividends. We now have 5 more true fresh OL who will not see the 2 deep for another year or two. BG is impressive in that your entire OL is back.

Thanks for posting, Chandler. It'll be interesting if either our run defense or your pass defense can hold up. I suspect both are going to have a rough day of it. Probably a good chance this one comes down to turnovers, penalties and special teams. Given our recent track record, this does not instill a tremendous amount of confidence in me. Should be an entertaining game to watch.
