Their defense totally dominated our offense in the fourth quarter. Period

A game we could have won. Our kicking game is no longer a strength and we're too young on defense. Memphis QB is good and made the plays.

Still feeling good our def is getting better and capable of making adjustments. Injuries look minor.

On to Purdue

Outcoached in the second half and continued special teams issues lead to a loss.

The Falcons played their hearts out and they lost to a very good team. It probably gets easier from here on out.

The offense was unreal today until the fourth. For the first time all season the offense looked beatable. Lots to learn.

The defense is talented but they made young mistakes - most notably biting on misdirections. Another learning lesson. The defense will improve from this one.

Tyler Tate has always been consistent. Is he in a mental funk? I don't know, I don't care to speculate, I just hope whatever got into him after the Tennessee game gets out of him because we all know how good he is. Another great outing from Joseph Davidson.

Lots to learn today. In our first three games we've faced the two best offenses we'll face all year. Good to get them out of the way. Though there are some offenses that could be matchup problems, namely UMass and UT. While I believe we can win games in shootouts, it would be nice to have our D win some games for us.

It's the same old story that cost us the game.........team discipline and special teams. Someone also tell our OC or Dino that play action when you have a 4th and 15 only takes time and gets you sacked. DUMB!

Can't believe we lost the game after witnessing one of the most impressive receiving performances I've ever seen by Roger Lewis. He did all of that on just 7 catches. Simply remarkable and a shame it was wasted in a losing effort.

Turning point"s" in the game: The fake punt leading to a score and the drive where Moore dropped a TD followed by a missed FG by Tate where we got no points where we had a for sure 7. I thought right then and there that could come back to haunt us, and it did.

Great game guys. Lewis is a NFL guy. Very impressed with your team. Special teams was the the difference.

Best of luck the rest of the year. You guys won't need it. Way to represent the G5!

Some random thoughts here - Several comments here about the trick play that missed and I think Babers even mentioned it as a drop. Maybe I was too far away from the play but it looked like a tough-ish play to make. He was wide open and the throw was a little too far to the middle of the field. It looked like Moore got on his horse to catch up to it and could quite snag it. I think the next two plays were a bomb to somebody then a sack. I would have really like to see a positive play on that third down. Tough kick into the wind from near 50 for Tate.

In hindsight I'm sure babers wishes he had the extra timeouts he wasted deciding to punt from his own 25 yard line and calling a timeout to draw up a vertical route to Lewis that we ran all day.

Kickoff returns - I wish I had stats to back it up but it seems that every end zone kickoff should be a kneel. No way is the average start better than 25 (or 30 in the 1 case today when refs screwed up and gave us 5 yards).

Game day experience - huge lines to get in the stadium and an unreal concessions line with 10 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. Get through the line and there was no more bottled water. Ah, it's another football season in BG!

So glad I wasn't the first one to bring that up. Our track record on family weekend is pretty bad.

I'm afraid you could bottle this post and keep it to use for some games yet to be played. I love the talent on this team about as much as I hate the coaching staff's inability to get them to play smarter football.
