Things got interesting last nigh with South Florida pounding Temple and Boise going down again.
The loss should tumble Temple way down the rankings, with a game vs Memphis still to play. If S Florida or Temple could somehow win the AAC title game, it could open the door for the MAC / BG to get invited. Even if Houston and Navy are ranked higher, you have to be the champion of your league.
It's a long shot. But, BG is still alive for a New Years bowl....

Don't know if I can trust the source, but here is one guy's ranking of teams for the access bowl spot.

Interesting that he has Toledo going to "Kentucky" Tuesday night for the game! I wouldn't put a lot of trust in his article.

Factman, I thought the same thing. I actually had to read that part about three times to figure out what he was saying, then the light bulb went of that he was referring to the wrong Bowling Green.

Unfortunately I don't see BG having much of a chance at the access bowl, the American winner will likely get that and deservedly so, it's been the most consistent G5 conference this year. The loss to Memphis is also looking less "good" as they've dropped two straight.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

A 4 loss South Florida would not go before BG.jpfalcon09 wrote:Unfortunately I don't see BG having much of a chance at the access bowl, the American winner will likely get that and deservedly so, it's been the most consistent G5 conference this year. A 3 loss Temple would be a toss up.
Obviously BG isn't leapfrogging Navy or Houston.
It's the top G5 champ, not the best team. South Florida could tie the committees hands. Memphis @ Temple and Cincy @ USF are next weekend. If Temple loses and USF wins, they will win the East. The Bulls are playing good football.

Had we beaten Memphis - maybe. Don't see it happening with two losses. Although BG Baylor would have an O/U of 170 and would be fun to watch.
