"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Thanks for posting this. I remember when they did this for the first surface we put down.

Is watching "grass" get installed more exciting than watching grass grow?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

For some people on this board...YES!

When you get to watch the paint dry in the seating bowl as well that's almost too much excitement for one webcam.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

I was looking at the diagram of the new field and noticed, it appears the area beyond the south end zone is going to feature what looks like brown turf (according to the image). This area would be where the tents area is, and was previously a paved area. I wonder if this is being done to allow people to walk between the east and west grandstands without having to walk through the grass which often becomes a real mess later in the year or after inclimate weather.

I was back on campus to be inducted as a "Golden Falcon" Tues., then took a look from the south endzone w a few pix of the old turf rolled up. Wierd thing is that it LOOKS like they moved our entire seating area toward the bookstore enzone, w seats still attached. Not sure if i'm right as it looked strange. At any rate most of the work so far is definitely on West side of stadium so far.
Really seems strange to stand at end of field and see a gray fine gravel instead of "grass".

About time to put down the turf. All prep work appears done. Chance of storms the next 3 days. I wonder what affect rain has once all the prep work has been done. Do they need to go back and level the dirt/gravel or will rain not affect the work already been done.

Wouldn't it be cool if the old turf was cut up into squares to be framed? Turf that the MAC champs of 2013 & 2015 were a part of?

No...sounds like something that would cost more money than it would bring in

I actually have small pieces of the turf from when it was being first put in about a decade ago. There were all kinds of scrap pieces laying around during the installation (green, orange, brown and white pieces). They look great in my BG collection. Also, I remember when they pulled up the grass sod before putting down the turf and allowed fans to have it if they wanted. I recall some people on here grabbing some and replanting it elsewhere such as in their yards.

The old turf was auctioned off. My father knows who purchased it...apparently he wants to build an indoor baseball facility in the BG area.

Does anyone know what the delay in putting down the turf. If memory serves me correctly I think Toledo had to wait 4 weeks to practice on their field after the turf was installed. If that is the same for us if the turf was installed this weekend we still would not be able to practice on the field until Mid August. Three weeks before our first game. Cutting it a little close aren't we.
