Once they got going, I had not seen defense like that since Clawson we here! That was refreshing. The penalties were killers and I would have guys running every step in DLP Stadium for the whole week. I felt like we wanted to go run heavy and we were pretty successful at it as the game went on. As far as the end of the game, I don't understand the TO. But I also don't understand just letting UT walk in for a score. I think letting that happen deflates a defense that had stood tall all game. We need to do all we can to build their confidence, not tear it down. We took a huge step forward today. I think the Babers recruits are finally falling in like with what Jinks expects. This team will win again, and SOON.

They didn't put 77 on us and didn't beat us by 31. Is it the defense we want, not at all. Is it an improvment over what we've had so far this season, absolutely.

3 games of consecutive improvement. At some point you have to credit the coaches for the improved play and at some point this will lead to wins. 5 games to go, all winnable with a good effort.

We've lost by 3, 6 and 7 points in our three MAC games. To me that is crushing because a one-score game means you could have won it. We could have won them. But we didn't. Win one or two of them and you're completely in the MAC race right now. Instead, we're toast and at the very bottom of the league. Did I think we were at least competitive against Toledo? Yes, absolutely. But we're way past moral victories here, especially against our MAC peers. And any time you lose SEVEN consecutive times to your so-called rival, there's nothing to smile and feel good about concerning it. I like that we were in it and at least had a chance, but whether you lose 7 or 77, it's still a loss, and those always suck. This loss sucks just as much as last year's did to Toledo, or the previous five before that too.

Rather than engage in endless self flagellation...I'm going to point out the obvious ...something that means far more to the future of this program than a single loss. This was James Morgan's coming out party. 5Td's to 1 INT..extended plays with his feet on a number of occasions. 25/38 for 335 and enough near misses that suggests his ceiling is even higher. We have a really good QB and he's here three more years.

We are done with the hard part of our schedule. The team has vastly improved. 4-1 or 5-0 isn't out of the question..

And 5-0 might get this team into the MAC Championship game again. If Ohio loses to Toledo, Central Michigan, and one of Akron/Kent State/Buffalo. Wouldn't that be rich?

Word. JMo is gonna be a stud. The team played hard for 60 min and this was our best effort of the year. We will win games playing like we did yesterday.

You guys deserved to win. I know you all would've loved to pull this one out but we got lucky. I know our defense is awful but your offense was hitting on all cylinders

Kind words RF but ut did what good teams do. They find a way to win. When we tied it at 35-35, I totally believed we were gonna steal it. But ut lined up and marched right down the field. That offense is way stacked with talent and I'm happy Mr Hunt will no longer torment us. ut did what they had to do to finish. BG will get there and I think Coach Jinks gets the rivalry. I am so sick and tired of losing this game, though. I think Coach Jinks will beat ut. Babers didn't really care about the game, imo. Clawson did to a certain extent, but it wasn't THEE game like it needs to be.

Congrats on the win...ut is not overrated in my mind. Proud of the way BG fought...

Hopefully he can keep it going. James can easily have a regression game this week against a decent defensive team and we'll be back in melt down mode on here come Sunday and Monday. I guess the good news about being 1-6 with a young team is now you can coach guys up for improvement for the rest of the season, knowing that this season is 95% likely over unless something miraculous happens.
