Gut reaction says Jackson is really coming on or Clint is still working through the injury . . . hope Jackson just had a solid Spring

Re: Two-deep released
Malik Brown buried on the D depth chart. Had high hopes for him when he transferred from TN. Never panned out. Looking forward to seeing Caleb Bright at RG. Very few worries about kicking game this year.

I was told they are really trying to ease all the guys who went down with ACL injuries last year (Stephens, Domer and Denley) back slowly and in fact, they aren't sure all of them will even be ready to go by this fall. It didn't sound too promising. Stephens was the one that sounded like he's working to get back to where he was to me, which is sort of reflected in the two-deep. I was told they were hoping to groom Domer as the featured back, but not sure where he stands now. Denley is the wild card because he hasn't played for us yet while the other two have, but I was told he was very good (elusive and athletic) before he went down last year.OptionQB wrote:Gut reaction says Jackson is really coming on or Clint is still working through the injury . . . hope Jackson just had a solid Spring
I was a little surprised not to see Hendrix on the two-deep at LB. But I was extremely surprised to not see Tanner on the two-deep (had a lot of offers including Auburn), or the other Juco OL we signed. Normally when you sign Jucos they fill needs immediately. I was told BG wants to redshirt both as the coaches are very worried about the OL more next season (and the future) over this year. Seems pretty odd and certainly a unit to keep a close eye on.
And from what I was told, don't be surprised to see Doege climb the depth chart either, even as a true. I know coaches want to redshirt guys, but nowadays with the way kids are bolting all over the place as grad transfers, if he's good enough to play over a guy he'd be behind while red-shirting, then I'm playing the kid. Better to have a guy for four years than to only have him three while he plays his last year somewhere else.
GO BG!!!

Reported by Wagner that Marquis Zimmerman has left the program for personal reasons.
Also, Jinks announced today that BG has received a OL graduate transfer from Cincinnati, John Kurtz.

Apparently... Kurtz has two to play one, so they can RS him this year if they want to
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
