BGSU RV Tailgate Questions

Post by thewebboy »

A few questions about bringing RVs to tailgates...

Is north of the Stroh the only RV lot now?

Can cars park next to your RV in the RV lot?

Does it only open 4 hrs before games, or can you get in sooner? Thinking 1pm this Saturday.

Thanks everyone in advance!

Most of the RVs are directly south of the stadium. Cars can and do park next to the RVs. We take our fifth wheel over the night before.

Rick and Marta,
Have you heard from any of the "group " as to who is coming, planning to tailgate etc.?
Joyce and I will probably leave CLE around noon or so, should get to BG around 2pm.Looking forward to getting back to campus, seeing football live, hopefully with major improvement over last week.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

I believe that Mitch and his family will be there as well as Freak. Haven't really heard about others although Marta is a bit more tuned in to that than I.

I called ticket office. They said RVs only in lot north of Stroh.

Unless that is just something they have to say when asked...

RV has been south of the stadium ever since they put in the grass area. Hmm maybe that's why I don't see many of them anymore. It's a mystery. Before you know it the RV lot will be over at the ice arena.

Nothing has changed this year as far as parking is concerned. (They tried to stuff them into the Stroh lot one year which was a catastrophe. By the second game most of us were back in the south lot.) You may find a few in that north lot but, by far, the majority will be in the south lot. We've been doing this for a long, long time. We should be in the lot by 8:00 PM on Friday.

Unfortunate they tell people RVs go in the Lot by the Stroh. We were planning to bring one, but decided against it since they mentioned that other cars may not be able to park around it. Ah well.

They tried to pull that BS on us in year's past for the south lot as well. Tried telling us that that RV lot was for RVs only. I just drove there anyway...I'll be damned if I'm not tailgating with our usual crew just because some have RVs and some don't.

Same bullshit they pull during basketball season where you can only park in the Stroh Lot if you have a pass, and can only park in the front half of the lot if you are also a major Falcon Club contributor. So of course, that lot sits 85% empty while they make people walk from the tailgating lots because the university, in who knows how many years of athletics, has no clue how to run a damned athletic event. It's sad really.

Anyhow, on a happier note, I think Dex & I will be out there this Saturday as well. So long as the weather is nice (and the forecast looks pretty good). Pretty excited to get out there and tailgate since I didn't get to a single game last year.

You can always park your vehicle next to your camper, no matter which lot you're in. That has never been an issue, unlike which lot they want you to park it in. We are always in lot 13 (I think that's the number) across from El Zarape, other than that ONE time we were forced to park at the Stroh. If you're in 13, there is also plenty of parking for your friends to park near you depending on where you park. Also, may want to arrive as early as possible to avoid the hassle of trying to get an RV into a spot with other vehicles and campers nearby. That is why we take ours out Friday night (LARGE Fifth Wheel). Hope this helps.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
