Columbus Dispatch has a nice MAC preview

Obviously, this town is Buck wild. But the Dispatch did devote two pages to the MAC today in its college football preview, which included stories on each Ohio MAC team by Mark Znidar.

These are Znidar's picks, by the way:

MAC East:

1. Marshall
2. Miami
3. Kent State
4. Ohio
5. Akron
6. Central Florida
7. Buffalo

MAC West:

1. Toledo
2. Bowling Green
3. Northern Illinois
4. Western Michigan
5. Ball State
6. Central Michigan
7. Eastern Michigan

This was his brief take on Bowling Green:

The skinny: Pressure will be on sophomore Omar Jacobs to make smooth transition from Josh Harris, who was BG's greatest quarterback ever.
Probable finish: Second. The Falcons have enough talent to win MAC.

If the full story appears online, I'll post it. It focused on Keon Newson quite a bit.

Did you know Newson would love to be a professional fisherman after college? I didn't either. Apparently, he spent quite a bit of his childhood trolling for bass in LaGrange, Ga.

Two pages? That's pretty awesome for a paper that doesn't have "direct" ties to the MAC.

I was at a workshop in Lawrence, KS and got a chance to see the "back end" of their incredible Univ. of Kansas sports site. Man, if the Blah or the Sentinel would do 1/2 of what they do, we'd be the happiest MAC fans on the planet.

The Dispatch site is open to subscribers only, and I'm not sure they put the college football preview section online anyway.
