The 2018 Schedule has received a bit of clarity, as we now know our 12 opponents. The nonconference dates are set, but the conference dates will be announced later. The schedule looks a little something like this:
9/1 @ Oregon
9/8 vs. Maryland
9/15 vs. Eastern Kentucky
9/22 @ Georgia Tech
Conference Games
Home: Kent State, Buffalo, Miami, Western Michigan
Away: Ohio, Akron, Toledo, Central Michigan
The game with WMU will be the first since we beat them in Kalamazoo in 2015.
The game with CMU will be the first since we beat them in Mt. Pleasant in 2010.
I'm looking forward to the season! Go Falcons!

Never seen a game at GT so I'll be at that one.
Re: 2018 Schedule News
If you don't play a conference opponent for 8 years, are you really in the same conference? That is some awful cross division scheduling there.

Re: 2018 Schedule News
It's common to go two seasons without playing an opponent in the other division. We last played Western in 2015. However we also played Western in 2014 for some reason. We haven't played CMU in 8 seasons. Part of that problem is when we had an unbalanced league with UMass and Temple. We should have played CMU in 2014. We only have two cross over games every year because the third game every year is against Toledo. Maybe they should think about making the Toledo game a non-conference game and then we can still have three crossover games every year.

Wouldn't it be more precise to say that we have three crossover games like everyone else and one of them is always Toledo?gmartin wrote:We only have two cross over games every year because the third game every year is against Toledo. I have no problem with the current set up, and I wouldn't want to schedule a MAC school as a nonconference game.
It is odd that we haven't played Central Michigan in eight years. It would be interesting to know why. I suspect it was a fluke, more or less.

Really cool stadium, but I've only been there for an ACC game so it was packed. Not sure what the environment is like for the non-conference games. I will say that you better plan on getting there either very early, or stay somewhere close the night before, because parking is a nightmare. It's right in the middle of Midtown, so space is at a premium.kdog27 wrote:Never seen a game at GT so I'll be at that one.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Thanks for the information. I am pretty familiar with the area though as I only live a couple hours away. Was just in Atlanta 2 weeks ago for a Cavs game.drumstix2388 wrote:Really cool stadium, but I've only been there for an ACC game so it was packed.
