Reports are that Fox Sports Ohio will replay the Big 33 Game Thursday at 7:00.
I watched the game live on Fox Sports Pittsburgh Sat. night. Turner played very well.
Passing- 4-7 for 101 yards. One TD for 42 yards. No interceptions. No sacks, no out of bounds passes. Very good at avoiding the pass rush. Looked poised and very quick.
Rushing-4 for 14 yards. Ohio rushed for little yardage (leading rusher had 28 yards). Turner made one exceptional 3rd down and long run to get a 1st down.
Comparison to other Ohio QBs: I would rank Hoyer (Mich St) who started and played most and Turner as better than Gregory (Indiana). Hoyer and Turner are much more mobile than Gregory who was sacked at least once and had to throw out of bounds passes to avoid the pass rush. I'm not sure about Gregory's future in the Big Ten. The main difference between Hoyer (who on recruiting surveys was listed as a drop back QB) and Turner (listed as a dual threat QB) was Turner's running ability. This leads me to view Turner as the best overall prospect of the three.
Henne (Michigan) and Morelli (Penn St) of the Pennsylvania team came into the game with the most hype as QBs. I think, though, that Hoyer and Turner played just as well if not better. Henne and Morelli lost some poise at the end when the game was on the line.
The TV commentators said that Turner was the most athletic of the QBs. In my view, BG is getting a good one (how about a great one?).
Also, BG signee Nate Waldron played a lot for safety on the Pennsylvania team.
Finally, Turner's TD pass was to Asante White from Toledo. What's the story on him? I don't believe he has signed a letter of intent.
