Re: 13131
Yah, I saw that. Made me chuckle. Nothing like putting lipstick on a pig to try and keep your D1 status, when you purposely allowed your program to get to that point by giving some schmuck head coach a year or more too long. But, this is normal practice. Makes you wonder why the NCAA has rules if teams just find ways around them.guest44 wrote:Let’s all take a moment to laugh at this number, the laziness it took to make it up, and last night in general.
LSU Alabama is excpecting 2.4 million in attendance Saturday.
Is it possible to fire the interim coach too?

Re: 13131
Every sports organization counts tickets sold as opposed to butts in the seats. This is nothing new.
What a silly axe to grind.

You have to give ESPN credit for showing as little of the stands as possible.guest44 wrote:BGSU did not sell 13131 tickets. No way. Between season tickets and giving them out as Halloween candy, 13131 is not possible.

Re: 13131
Every MAC program has this problem. The midweek games are good for money but awful for a fanbase.
Unless it's a rivalry game and both teams are good (BG-UT in 2015), there will always be an overwhelming amount of empty seats. That's just the nature of playing a football game on a Tuesday night at 8:00pm.

Re: 13131
I understand that playing a Tuesday night game at 8pm is terrible. Scheduling a game between Mike Jinks BGSU and Kent St on a Tuesday night at 8pm is worse. Thankfully, the remainder of BG games this year will blend in with other college football. The 13131 is my point. Just take less effort and make up 13000.

Re: 13131
Sponsors buy up an allotment of tickets as part of their agreements with the university. I can guarantee you that every MAC school does this, and likely other G5 conferences who have mid-week games. It's nothing new and has been going on ever since these games were first put in place.guest44 wrote:BGSU did not sell 13131 tickets. No way. The constant whining about this is insufferable.

What was insufferable was that game last night. It's a good thing the other 12,131 mystery fans not in attendance didnt have to watch it.jpfalcon09 wrote: The constant whining about this is insufferable.
Re: 13131
Every single student that “claims” their ticket is counted in attendance too. Not too outlandish that 8,000-10,000 students claimed their ticket to every home game.

Re: 13131
We don't even actually claim our tickets anymore. They're now automatically claimed for us, and we just have t sign in and access them.BGDrew wrote:Every single student that “claims” their ticket is counted in attendance too. Their attendance was listed as 15,600, but their stands looked just as empty.Tony4BG wrote:Curious, anyone tune into Buffalo game? How was their crowd with winning season?
