So What's Been Going On?

Since national signing day there has been a grand total of 3 stories over 22 days about BG football. So what's been going on?

There was a ton of interest and momentum when Loeffler was hired and in typical BG PR fashion there's been virtually nothing done to follow up on the positive momentum generated and the powers that be appear content to let the initial excitement fizzle.

They should be putting something out EVERY DAY about the program. How about...

-10 Questions with a player on the roster per day
-Interviews with the new coaches
-Mic up Loeffler for a "day in the life of a coach" video
-Do a video series on Montre Gregory and Scott Miller's attempt to make the NFL, not just write a paragraph about them being in an all-star game
-Do a profile on how Kelvin Tolbert is running the off-season conditioning program

We are provided nothing because they think we expect nothing. It's time to raise the expectations.

What's been going on is players have been on vacation, much of the athletic department has been on vacation, new coaches have been moving into town and getting situated, and it is the off season including dead period for recruiting. Hang tight, spring ball is coming soon.

Yup...for about 15 years.

Coaches are all out recruiting, basketball and hockey are in full swing, players take heavier course loads in the spring and summer; There are never a ton of football stories this time of year for pretty much any program unless they were in a January bowl. If you look on Twitter there have been about 15-20 players who have tweeted about getting an offer from BG in the last couple weeks. Things are moving, but the athletic department isn't going to take attention away from the sports that are in season. I'm not sure what you're expecting.

Coaches are in Florida recruiting for the 2019 class. A few players down there have tweeted offers from the University. Keep in mind most of the students don't come back until late January.

Recruiting for February's signing day, finalizing a deal to play at Michigan, and the holidays. The offseason, especially around the holiday season, isn't the biggest time of year for news. Settle down and be patient. There will be plenty of news when spring ball is on the horizon.
