A couple of transfers in
A couple of transfers in
I know that Davon Jones was briefly mentioned in another thread but it was buried by some dead horse beating so I'm going to put both recent transfers here.
Davon Jones, RB/LB, Boston College graduate transfer: He played both ways pretty sparingly at BC, and while his size and our roster might lead one to think he's coming here to play LB, it sounds like he's joining the RB corp, probably as a short yard back (5'10", 235lbs).
Declan Burt, TE, Bryant University: Rising junior TE at FCS program, Bryant. Nothing eye-popping with his size or stats, so I'm not sure what need he's going to fill here, but I'm sure the coaching staff has a plan.
Welcome to BG, Davon and Declan!

We have a lot of depth at TE. Perhaps position changes coming? And for the new LB ... looks good to me.

I was thinking the same thing as soon as I saw one of these transfers was a TE. The curious thing to me is, RB and TE are probably the two positions we’re actually okay at in terms of skill, numbers and depth, and that’s where we’ve added guys. Meanwhile, we have glaring issues and positions of need that are unproven, undermanned and have next to little or no depth (particularly the DL and DB’s). While I’m glad these two are joining BG, I’d love to see us add a few other guys at positions of the most need.MarkL wrote:We have a lot of depth at TE.
GO BG!!!
Re: A couple of transfers in
With the way Loeffler uses TE definitely need good depth
Re: A couple of transfers in

I assume that Burt has to sit a year.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Time for Loeffler to work the transfer portal! Need a couple experienced guys!
Re: A couple of transfers in
Not a transfer but assume he will be part of team this season. Kicker Kyle Rhonehouse. Holland Springfield.
Re: A couple of transfers in
Looks like another BC grad transfer. Wonder if older brother of other Burt. This one is Jake and TE too.
Re: A couple of transfers in
Or maybe just the one, Declan. Can’t tell by retweets.
