Press Conference

Post by mcfalcons83 »

Watched the opening press conference today and was impressed not just on how Coach came across but also the players (Clair and Kramer) You can see a big change for the better from last year. May not translate into increased wins this year but you have to feel the program is headed in the right direction.

My prediction? We win at least 6 games this season IF we can stay healthy. We have too thin a roster to get lots of injuries.

I have no feel for the season. All we can ask for is consistent effort and signs of improvement, win or lose.

I have no feel for the season either. When I look at what we've done lately and what talent we have on the roster (based on what I've seen them do) I don't see how we win more than 2-3 games. But then I step back and realize the MAC is pretty awful and we've seen throughout the years even marginally talented teams that get good coaching can win some games in this conference.

No matter how good the coaching ends up though, our lack of depth is quite likely to cost us. We ran off a lot of scholarship players and it's hard to overcome that. And the team wasn't exactly deep the past couple years either.

6+ wins would surprise me, but just means we got good coaching (and perhaps had more talent on the roster than we realized watching the past few seasons).

Other than that nothing between 1-5 wins would really be that shocking to me...

Vegas has our over/under win total at 3. Many of you may not put much stock in this, but I've seen multiple times how on the money they can be. I guess 2 wins at worse, 6 at best, with 4 being my guess.

I'm not sure if I posted elsewhere, but I've gone back and forth on this.

I think Loeffler's staff has this team more ready than people realize, but we're a few years away from consistently competing.

We win vs. Morgan State, @ Kent State, and vs. Central Michigan.

And ya know what? The "Toledo drill" pays off and the streak ends. We beat the Rockets inside the Doyt on October 12th.

4-8, with a bright future and a massive rivalry win to hang our hat on.

I think that's about right. I wouldn't want to take a side, but if forced to, I'd probably take the under.

That said, I remember Urban Meyer's first game at Missouri. Nobody saw that win coming after six straight years of futility under the previous head coach. This is why we play the games.

I'll take the over...the team is markedly improved in three important areas: fundamentals, conditioning and mental approach. I think we win the opener and then pick off three or so MAC games...Kent...Akron..CMU...and maybe...just maybe... an upset against OU

For Me, 2-3 wins with Loy/Wade. 4-5 wins with McDonald.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
