Spring Ball Cancelled

Post by roguewarrior »

This week and the “spring practice” set for this Saturday cancelled. A couple of Covid positives, but then the BS “contact tracing” wiped out half the team. So, we got 12/15 practices in. I do know other teams have had similar road blocks this spring, including portal defections combined with injuries making practicing full go impossible. I know MSU has had difficulties.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Dang - this sucks.

Good that they were at least able to get 12 in before things went sideways, though. Much better than zero last spring.

Boy that's a bummer. At least we got those practices in.

I sure hope that, by this fall, vaccinations are prevalent enough to stop this kind of thing from happening.

I know a few of the teams have already had the opportunity to be vaccinated. I assume football should be in the same boat in pretty short order.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

I thought I saw where the state is hoping to offer vaccinations to all college students before the end of the term. (The theory being that it will prevent students from taking this nasty thing home to their parents or siblings or grandparents.)

I mean, anyone 16 and up can get a vaccine appointment in Ohio right now.

This is correct. The goal is to vaccinate all college kids before they return home.

COVID19 Vaccinations

Post by transfer2BGSU »

BGSU has received vaccinations from the state that are specifically reserved for current BGSU students.

BGSU will host student-only, two-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination clinics, in partnership with the Wood County Health Department, on campus at the Perry Field House on Wednesday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second dose will be given on either April 28 or 29. Students received an email on Friday, April 2, with a special code and instructions on how to sign up.

Additional student-only, single-dose Johnson & Johnson on-campus vaccination clinics are planned for Thursday, April 15 and Thursday, April 22, with more information to come.

Word I’d heard before was an emphasis on J and J vaccine to college kids since it’s a 1 shot deal, not worried about going Back for 2nd one. So this report seems different, giving kids a choice I guess.
