I'm nitpicking, or I'm paranoid

Post by Falcon30 »

This headline from USAToday accurately sums up the game to me "Oklahoma pounds out 40-24 defeat of Bowling Green"

This caption under the front page picture pisses me off:
"White chucks three TDs as Sooners rip Bowling Green."

Did they really "rip" us? The espn coverage pissed me off. I love how when we closed it to 13 points, it was "Bowling Green added a couple of touchdowns late?!?!?!??!" It was interesting at 37-24, but they ate most of the 4th quarter. It isn't like they put in the JV team and we scored two fluke TDs, but that was the impression they tried to create.

I am going to go take a xanax now....

That was the thing that made me feel good about the game...we hung with their first team the entire day. I was having nightmares of their second and third strings running up the score on us, but that was simply not the case. White and Jones were in the game on the last play.

That nine minute drive that ate up most of the 4th quater was the back breaker and durring it we had a couple excellent chances to get the ball back without them scoring, but alas it did not happen. We fought the good fight though and I don't think we were "ripped" by any means....especially when the spread was 32½.

Wow! Thanks for the great game you gave us. We beefed up our schedule and added bg for the first game for sos help (now the ncaa has changed all that)...but we had to play the best opening game ever to win. I say BG is a 10 game winner this year. Thank God we didn't pull our ususal opening game sloppiness.

There were a few penalties, a couple turnovers, but this was NOT a sloppy game. OU beat us near our best, IMHO.

What a joke...we scored 2 td's with 13-14 min left in the game and it was "late"?? If we could have stopped one of those 3rd down plays on the monster 17 play OK drive, we could have made this thing REAL interesting!
Those of us that saw the game know what happened.

It's a lot closer to reality than any of you are. Take off the brown and orange colored glasses.

No way that we ripped you.

It was a scary game for me, with BGSU able to move the ball all afternoon.

Our improved running game helped save our bacon.
