Doesn’t that make it a positive?? Ha

That's why I have left, this brief interlude notwithstanding. Reading the posts of Flipper, hammb and a couple others is like drinking pure poison. They hate BGSU sports to the point of wanting them eliminated yet can't stay off a board intended for fans. They'll insist this isn't true of course, it's just this coach or this AD or this President they detest, not the sports themselves. Then 2 days later it's back to how everything is terrible again. How much do you have to hate your own life to continuously project such bile onto a relatively nondescript athletic program in Northwest Ohio? Recruiting a parent of a kid kicked off the basketball team to come onto the basketball board and air his grievances? Sick, deranged stuff that moderators would have put a stop to immediately if we had them.

Life is too short to subject yourself to such hatred. Adios, muchachos!

Screw you...

Unlike Schad...I have not advocated dropping any sport(s). I think the model we're following for football isn't sustainable, but I think that's the case for everyone outside of a few P5 schools.

I think our current coach is an incompetent, chinless ninny...his record speaks for itself. You...if I recall correctly...wanted to give Mike Jinks more time as the HC. I want to get rid of the incompetent...you wanted to give an arguably worse coach more time. I would say that logically...it is you who's campaigned for the destruction of BGSU football

I would add that Antimob makes an important point that should not be lost here.

Relentless negativity seems to have driven many BGSU fans of good will from this board. As this has happened, the proportion of negativity has only grown. This has in turn driven more fans away. It is a vicious cycle.

We are at the point where a significant proportion of contributors to this board seem to, as Antimob, put it:
... hate BGSU sports to the point of wanting them eliminated yet can't stay off a board intended for fans. Well said.

I hope Antimob will hang in there. I hope other fans who only lurk these days will hang in there and maybe consider contributing again once in a while. This place would be better for it.

Schad....attacking people for being negative doesn't make you more noble...it just makes you a whiny hypocrite.

Antimob doesn't make a point worth the price of the keyboard or mobile device he typed it on. Yeah, basketball team hasn't made the tournament since my parents were in grade school and the football program has been among the bottom 5 in D1 FBS for the better part of a decade but some of us are only negative because we hate our own lives and want BG sports eliminated entirely? How fu**ing stupid do you have to be to draw that conclusion?

If he thinks reading my words are pure poison then I hope he ODs on it and gets bent.

This board isn't more negative because negative people have driven off positive posters. This board is more negative because our athletic programs are giant pile of dogshit in the only sports that many people care about. There are far less posters here in general largely because message boards are a dying communication medium combined with the fact that BG athletics fandom has bred apathy into what little fanbase we ever had. Many of my best BG friends barely even pay attention to our athletics anymore, and some of these people literally built this very board we are typing on right now; others were driven away from BG sports and the websites they created by the very administration that some of you all keep defending.

Mr. Antimob registered his username solely to come on here and defend Mike Jinks at a time when anybody with an ounce of football acumen knew he was in completely over his head. Now he comes on here to defend the likes of Moosbrugger, Huger, and Loeffler? Whatever, man.

I'm not going to bother making Antimob right. I've been posting on this board for 20 fu**ing years. I have plenty of posts praising Clawson's good teams, and raving about his hire. Praising Babers' good teams and celebrating his initial hire. I've got posts here praising Orr, Huger, and probably even Brandon when they were actually succeeding. But if people expect roses and sunshine when our key revenue programs are dumpster fires then I guess just put me on ignore and move on.

Exactly...my disposition is negative because we employ people who don't get results. I defended Clawson when he record was just about as bad as Loeffler's because I can spot a winner...Clawson was a winner. Loeffler inspires zero confidence...I don't think he's a winner.

Huger does not seem to actually coach his team...so I really can't evaluate him on that score.

Moose? He played a part in trying to kill a previously successful baseball team and drove a large donor to the University of Toledo. Hired well on a soccer team...looks like a good hire o women's basketball. Extended Huger...twice. Given his extravagant travel and equipment budgets...those extensions are going to prove very costly

The negativity is warranted but every thread ends up hijacked and devolves into the same discussion. I think some of us would like a place to discuss the programs without that stuff creeping in. We're all aware of the myriad of issues the athletic department has. Personally, I wish some of the vitriol towards members would be tempered down a bit. Lord knows there have been moments where I've gotten sucked into it. It's okay to have differing points of view and it feels like in society now we've lost the ability to have constructive conversations with those we don't always see eye to eye with.

Just my two cents.

Yes, came on here initially and had a mile long post about why we should keep Jinks. Jinks had been so bad up to point I figured mob was either a family member or close friend of Jinks. Clearly I was wrong. The fact that he’s still here defending what to this point look like terrible hires makes me think he works in the athletic department. Clearly could be wrong here too. Won’t be the last time. When you defend Jinks I just have a hard time finding anything you say credible. 2015 we had a classic back and forth shootout with Memphis. A year later they beat us 77-3. That’s how bad Jinks was.
