I know BG played ok against OU. I think we will be good again, but will this be the year of the MWC or CUSA?

The Year of the MAC
So...What do you guys think about the prospects for the MAC this year? Saturday was NOT the upset Saturday we were hoping for for our up and coming conference. No game was even close except BSU/BC. Is the year of the MAC over? How do you think this weekend hurt the MAC image? I think that b/c of such a poor showing, the MAC might be back to nothing-special mid-major conference. Glad the Herd will be out of here next year and quit dragging the conference down!

Well, it certainly isn't starting off well. I haven't seen the Coaches poll yet, but the AP is looking very bleak. We had several teams with votes in each, and get this....the MAC has 0 votes in the AP. To be honest, I don't remember the last time this was the case? It has to be years...probably close to when Marshall joined the conference to find a poll with 0 votes for any MAC team. I really am suprised that we didn't hold onto some of our votes and NIU at least a few. Oh well....back to square one as ussual...we'll have to prove it on the field again this year.

Votes for top 25
You aren't going to get any votes when the media prints things like, "ok. "rolled", "routed" BG etc.
Let's be honest, OK DID control the game, but to say we got routed or rolled is a bit much, in my opinion. And most of the Sooner fans who posted on this site certainly didn't talk as if they'd witnessed a rout by any means... (unless they were just trying to be kind).
We need to prepare for SEMU the same way we got ready for OU...in other words, as I've stated many times before, "one game at a time". Then, let's see what happens to the voting.
As to the MAC overall, it was a bummer weekend, but last year's big "upsets" didn't occur against teams ranked 2,8,11, 14 etc. AND they didn't happen in the first week of the season either. (Unless you count Purdue's 1st game).
