Confirmed... thanks, Coach, for all your efforts at BG. The program is much better off now than in 2019.
We really need to hit this next hire outta the parts. Cmon Derek!!

Found the lack of an extension announcement to be curious...guess this is why

Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach
I would expect one of the coordinators to be an interim for the season. Too late in the offseason to bring someone new in. If they do well in an interim capacity, they keep the job. If not, he goes and gets a P4 assistant for 2026 season.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 8:55 am Confirmed... thanks, Coach, for all your efforts at BG. Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach
Kinda disagree...If this isn't a huge surprise...DVM might already have a HC in mind. Spring ball starts soon...not too late to go outside the program

Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach
Pretty terrible timing to leave, but I’m guessing the lack of an extension made him look around.

Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach
Surprising. Briggs says they were working on an extension, but the opportunity came open and Scot couldn't say no to improve his work/life balance. Can't say I blame him. He certainly wasn't shy this year about complaints with NIL & the portal.
Probably no choice but to promote from within at this stage to hold the roster together. Brian White seems like a good candidate.

Not the news I expected this morning!
Honestly, thankful that Loeffler rebuilt the program fro the ground up to a respectable level. I will also remember those wins over Toledo and the wins over Minnesota and Georgia Tech for the rest of my life.
And also thankful that we now have the opportunity to change our trajectory from a program that had peaked under their coach the past 3 years. Let's go get someone with great relationship skills and a strong offensive system.

What a shock. I don’t think it’s a terrible move to move on from Loeffler, but man the timing is terrible

It's hard not to be a bit salty about the timing. Puts the program is a very dangerous position, and whoever the new coach is with a massive uphill battle to climb to both try and hold the roster together, and attack the portal to fill holes. 2025 may wind up being a throw away year.TerrenceJesus8 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 10:03 am What a shock. This was most likely going to be a rebuilding year, anyway, so not sure the timing really matters at this point.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 10:24 amIt's hard not to be a bit salty about the timing. As someone who was never that sold on SL for the long-term (he did a good job rebuilding things from the ashes it was at one time), I am willing to wager a decent amount of cash that our AD already has someone in mind, and he most assuredly has a short list of people he'd like to see interview for the post, if not end up as coach.
So...thanks SL for what you did to help revive the program, and good luck in your NFL ventures.

Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach
There were rumblings a few days ago Scot might be leaving, DVDM may have already started putting out feelers. The good thing in all this is that you're not competing with other schools also looking to fill vacancies. Process may be a bit expedited in that regard.Falconwriter wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 11:22 amThis was most likely going to be a rebuilding year, anyway, so not sure the timing really matters at this point.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 10:24 amIt's hard not to be a bit salty about the timing. Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach
Tough spot for the program and players. Hopefully something comes together quick with spring ball on the horizon. I'm satisfied with DVDM's hires to date, but this is the biggest test yet. Let's hope we don't get pilfered by the spring portal

Re: Loffler to Eagles QB Coach
Kinda odd that he's going to Philly...Jalen Hurts isn't really the kind of QB he recruited here. He's entering his 6th year in the league..not sure how much tinkering SL is going to do or how receptive Hurst will be to hearing it.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
