The white stripe on top of the helmet is very wide, as are the brown ones beside it. In contrast, the Falcon is a rather thin brown with a very thin white outline. I think if the Falcon was done in wide lines (like the stripes) it would be just fine.
I wrote the athletic department through the feedback link on bgsufalcons.com about the helmets. I think they need to hear how we alums and fans feel about the design.

I *love* the rest of the unis. They are progressive-looking yet not wildly so. A nice balance. I think they did a nice job choosing. I noticed that New Mexico's unis looked very similar - they must be using addidas, too.

My ONLY complaint on the new uniforms, is that it is a little tought to see the numbers on the white uniforms. At Oklahoma, on a very bright day, alot of us were asking,"What number was that?".

If you go to the ESPN College Football page, the opening paragraph says "Minnesota and Purdue ran wild in their openers, Oklahoma struggled in theirs." It was a crazy weekend..."

And in Ivan Maisal's Column, "Finally the past is behind us"
"You can make the case that USC, LSU and Oklahoma played tough openers. All three opponents went to bowl games last season. With schedules peeled back from 12 games to 11, most schools dropped their difficult non-conference opponents. For instance, the other 11 Southeastern Conference teams opened against teams from conferences that don't get automatic BCS bids."

I don't know how much Oklahoma struggled, but it's nice to get some national respect.

On the topic of uniforms... For road games will it always be white pants white tops, or will it be orange pants white tops? I thought it to look a little silly with all white uniforms and then orange helmets. Probably just nit picking, but for a nationally televised game it has some importance.

I actually liked the white on white with the new unis. I thought it looked absolutely horrible with the old uniforms going with all white. I do like the old helmets better with the white, but maybe it would look better if the outlines were just thicker....might get too busy though. I say just bring the old helmet back.

Enough about the damn uniforms! You're beating a dead horse!

There are many more important issues to think about other than uniforms combinations.

Lets quit being petty.
