Spring Game?
Spring Game?
Any news from the spring game? Did it happen?
Re: Spring Game?
It happened. The cat was there which is all that matters.

Re: Spring Game?
It did. From all accounts the defense looked pretty good. Kastantin was said to have the most consistent day at QB. Carsen Melvin has moved from QB to TE. Strength of the offense will probably be the backs between Dendy and Amachree. A lot of unknowns elsewhere given the infusion of freshmen and transfers.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

A football brain AD and the interest in the program has never been lower. It’s like he is worried about everything but actual performance again. I wonder if that’s because the overall performance in 25-26 across all of athletics has been pretty much pathetic with his own coaches in place. If wins and losses were measured in photo ops, BGSU would have the most momentum in the MAC. Maybe that recent meeting with Bob Latta will get one of the major sports back into the top of the MAC?

Re: Spring Game?
Student interest seemed a lot higher a year ago...record enrollment fed into that
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Spring Game?
Very curious to see how that goes this year. Record enrollment helped. Celebrity head coach and viral cat posts probably did more for it.
The celebrity head coach is still here, but you can't really milk Pudge anymore. Carlson is out of eligibility, and people will just naturally move on from these things regardless.
I suspect we'll get good crowds for any good weather Saturday games, and nobody will care about any blah weather or weeknight games.
At some point it'd be cool to win again. Not like we did in the early 00's of course, but damn, just competing in the MAC would be nice. This conference is terrible and 2015 was a long time ago...

Say what? Then why are the the athletic department salaries up 9%? Then why is athletics receiving 14+ million in student fees? How is athletics helping that mission with a 7 million dollar budgeted loss? When the teams pretty much stink, winning is not the ultimate mission.
Imagine saying all this while begging fans for NIL money. What a joke!
Given the mission, BGSU should allow the students to opt out of student fees for athletics and the fees to support the marching band correct? Let the student choose its’ own student experience rather than paying to better others and raises for athletics staff and coaches.

I understand what he's saying. It doesn't inspire me to give to athletics, let alone to NIL.guest44 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 5:12 pm https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1RzBujmSZa/

Play that clip to the people who helped bring back the baseball program. Play that clip to the people who ponied up to keep Harold Fannin at BGSU. Play that to the coaches who are spinning in nowhere looking for leadership in the NIL madness. It’s a joke.
