First of all, who in the heck is D'Brickshaw Fergesun?

I consider myself to be a pretty avid follower of college football and I have never even heard that name before?

Secondly, I was just thinking that rather than be angered that Omar leaves for the draft next year, we should be honored that we had a player come to BG that had the kind of talent to be a first round pick after his second season of starting (if that comes to pass). It isn't all that often that someone from a "mid-major" (that still pisses me off...) leaves early and goes so high.

d'brickashaw ferguson is the #1 LT prospect coming out in the draft next year. he plays at university of virginia. he's 6'5", 295 lbs. he's probably still got some growing to do on his frame, and that's only going to make him even better.

there was talk of him coming out as a junior this year, and frankly, i'm shocked he didn't as he would have been the first OT taken in this draft, and probably a top 5 pick.

and i'd rather leave this omar leaving talk for sometime after the season starts. let's just enjoy what he's going to give us in 2005.

hell yea...I'm a Phins fan and would be glad to have Omar as our QB. Hell, he could go down to South Florida now and start over any of the other garbage QBs Saban has there (Ferotte, Feeley, Rosenfels, Berlin).

Too bad we let Keon's brother go, he was our inside track to getting Keon down in Miami too. Somebody has to fill in Surtain's shoes.......

Don't you people feel that it is a little early to be making draft predictions for this kid, the football season hasn't even started yet. Plus we don't know if he is going to stay for his senior season or not. Yes it is fun to talk about, but lets be realistic here and not base our thoughts on these so called "mock drafts." I would love to see Omar stay for his senior year, but then again no one knows for sure yet what he will do. My thoughts are lets enjoy this season watching Omar dismantle Toledo, and Miami and whatever his decision I wish him the best of luck. I know that I will become a fan of whatever team drafts him when he decides to go pro, whether it be in 06' or 07.' Roll Along!!!

If Omar goes in the first round, let alone the top 5, and its Miami, (Since I know you are such a huge Miami Fan, and I despise them, because I am a Vikings fan) I will personally shell out the money for a brand new Omar-Phins Jersey! How does that sound you little Bit*$.

Yes, it is early to be doing mock drafts. Nobody knows which order the teams will be drafting, which of this year's rookies will thrive or fail, and which older players will develop or move on.

That said, if you don't look at it as a mock draft it is certainly not too early. Phil Savage said in an interview yesterday that his scouts will be meeting this week to discuss next year, then he'll give them a couple weeks off. So the NFL talent evaluators are already getting ready for next season. If you look at it in regard to who is on the NFL radar, then I don't think its too early.

This gives us, now two draft sites that have Omar slotted as a round one pick, before he's done anything this year. Of course if he does well this year he'll go up, and if he does poorly he'll drop, but as of right now he's looking like a first rounder. As far off as these things are I'll bet that 1/3 or more of those players listed right there will end up being first round picks.

And why the hell could Ferguson not come out THIS year!? I love Braylon, but it would've been sweet to scoop up that franchise LT for a change!

It will be harder for the scouts to dismiss Omar for running a shotgun offense now that Alex Smith has gone #1 overall. Smith didn't show much of anything at Utah until Meyer came in and installed his "gimmick" offense.

Well that's because the former Utah coach was a moron and didn't let Smith on the field!

Seriously though, this year's draft did prove that a QB could go #1 overall from this style of offense. That said, remember this year's draft was among the very worst at the top that I've ever seen. It had depth, but the #1 pick could've been any of about 5-10 guys. The upper echelon talent was just not there.

True....Omar could walk on water, cure the common cold and post a 60/1 TD to int ratio and people would still probably rank him behind Matt Lienhart.

First of all this mock draft is complete crap! He has Phily and Indianapolis in the superbowl and Phily winning the whole thing. Indy would have to beat New England and for the past few years that hasn't happened and I doubt it will. Also Phily winning it all? thats all I have to say. and whats with the stars next to a few of the names?

the asteriks represent underclassmen coming out early.

mock drafts this early are complete crap. it's one thing to rank players, but to make up a mock draft is dumb. but as i said earlier, let this season play out before we start worrying about omar leaving early.
