Sorry, I was searching for links, but I could only find the one, which was apparently not enough for you. I am certain of what I read, but most of that has since been pulled because in the revised versions of the 2005 draft stuff Leinart was not involved.
Carson Palmer had major questions as an NFL prospect, because he only had 1 GREAT season, after 3 years of mediocrity at USC. Personally, I would rather have had Byron Leftwich any day of the week if I'm picking in that draft.
I don't even know why I'm responding, because I personally couldn't care less about Palmer -vs- Leinart anyways.

Here's how Palmer was percieved prior to the draft.

Bear in mind that Leinart has yet to get the kind of anal exam that Palmer had undergone in 2003, but there seems to be far fewer questions about Leinart than there were about Palmer.

If you would rather have Leftwich now you need your eyes examined.hammb wrote:Sorry, I was searching for links, but I could only find the one, which was apparently not enough for you. HAHAHA!
No wonder you're making this case for Palmer...I'm sensing a Bengals fan!
Right now they haven't done much to distinguish themselves from one another. Their seasons were almost identical last season. Both missed a couple games with injury, yet both passed for about 60% completions & 2900ish yards. Carson threw a few more TDs, but a LOT more INTs. Because of that Byron had a rating about 5 points higher.
My impression watching them play is that Palmer is the better athlete, but Byron has got a better arm. I still like Leftwich, but you'd be hard pressed to choose between the two, IMO.
Only a Bengals fan would say that I'd need my eyes checked to not prefer Palmer.
