If we were playing in real bowls I would agree with Flipper's take, but the fact is that the bowls we've played in are jokes on the college football landscape. Yeah, we got to play against the #6 or #7 Big10 team. And we played one of the least respected programs in their entire conference (only IU, and possibly ILL are lower).

As for the GMAC it was a bowl game against 2 mid-majors.

These are the bowls that much of the college football landscape jokes about, and wants nothing to do with. These are the bowls that are talked about by a LOT of fans that say there are too many bowl games.

Do I agree with their sentiments? Not necessarily, but I don't think wins in those bowl games does much to really further the national image of our program. What furthers our image more than anything is our gaudy offense numbers along with Urban making it big. An undefeated season would also valut us to the national spotlight. So long as we're losing conference road games against key opponents its all for naught.

Marshall is constantly talked about as the model of the MAC. The biggest reason, IMO, is that they dominated the conference by winning it all so often. You cannot tell me that it was their bowl success in the GMAC & Motor City that made everyone nationally know that program. No. It was perennial conference championships, an undefeated season, and legit NFL caliber talent that got them on the map.

I'm beginning to think I won't be happy until we go undefeated...and once we do that I'll want to do it again :)

Anyone but Bulger...

Actually I would hope the Rams take Omar so the Rams can get rid of Bulger.
