Football Heaven for BG this Year!!

Post by Salsa »

What would your version of football heaven be for BG this coming season? Here is my version. I hope I've got the schedule pretty much right.

1-The Falcons open with an impressive victory over Wisconsin. This puts them in the Top 25 right away.

2-For the home opener, they crush Solich and the Bobcats.

3-The next few games they win as well, with the big victory being an exciting game against Boise St on the "blue turf". They're now ranked in the Top 15.

4-The Falcons cruise through the remainder of their MAC schedule, leaving only the Toledo game to win the East Division.

5-Omar and his crew demolish the Rockets in front of a jam packed Doyt. They are now in the Top 10.

6-The Falcons polish off a undefeated regular season by winning the MACC and are ranked high enough to be selected for a BCS Bowl.

7-Omar is a Heisman finalist and goes to New York.

8-Guess who the Falcons play in their BCS Bowl? You got it!! The BUCKEYES!! (I think that technically this could happen.) The media jump all over this one. The Falcons roll up big numbers against the Buckeyes, letting Anthony Turner mop up. They close down their potent offense in the 4th Quarter, not wanting to embarrass Tressel and a fellow Ohio team.

This is my version of Falcon Heaven for the coming season. What's yours?

It would be my personal Falcon football heaven if Gregg Brandon managed to slip in the word "slobberknocker" into each postgame press conference.

Well played, sir. Very well played.

My version of football heaven this year, personally, will be being able to go to the bowl game, wherever it may be. My dad and I have had so much fun at the last two that I think we would probably go again if it isn't cost prohibative. Plus, being in Arizona next year, it would be the only game I would get to see in person. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I can afford it...

Sounds almost perfect. Except that my OCD complex has to take over and point out that our home opener is Temple not OU. Perhaps you meant MAC home opener, which makes sense. Either way, I like the way you think Salsa.

mine would be to simply win the MAC for cryin out loud. WE have been the best MAC team for the last 3 or 4 years and had nothing to show for it because we always choke. So the year we don't choke and win the MAC would be good enough for me, then I will worry about BCS bowls

I'd settle for more Port-O-Johns and trash bins in the East parking lot for tailgating. :?

To continue the corrections, the blue turf game (#3) is before the home opener (#2) which UK pointed out is against Temple, not Ohio. The rest looks pretty good, except for letting up on the Buckeyes. I say Omar stays in for four quarters and throws 9 TD passes and for 700 yards. Screw 'em.

And Salsa, I love your optimism. That would be the ultimate season so let's hope it all falls into place.

GO FALCONS!!! 88 days and counting down. Last night Mrs. Freak asked me what I was reading and I had the depth charts and class of 2005 list.   Thank God she is such an understanding woman.

Why we've choked....

We have choked on big games on the road especially because we have not had the defense to to the win those games pure and simple. Thats why I'm really jazzed bout Lovett coming to town and hopefully doing some interesting things to make the D ALOT better. Our offense over the past 4 seaons have been good enough to win the MAC many times, but thats not enough especially when you play good teams on the road who also have a pretty good offenses as well. This year in 2005 for us to win a Mac Championship D will be key.
