Hey, what about Falcon Hill-- the one between the band field and the tech building, which ROTC uses for training? It's probably about 8-10 feet tall-- not as tall as Bill's Hill though. Is that artificial? (That's not the ridge you were talking about, was it, Schad?)

Oh yeah!!! The hill that some guy hid a corpse in!!! From what I remember, the guy killed the lady in the early 90's, and buried her in that hill. Police uncovered the body in the fall of '01. I remember one day we showed up to FMB practice, and there were TV trucks and cops everywhere. Good times, Jeff
EDIT: I'd guess that the hill in question is about 10-15 feet high.

Bowling Green was not disputed territory.MiamiBando wrote:Another history flash... Ohio WON BG and Toledo from Michigan, and that is how and why Michigan has the U.P.
Here is a map. The area in black was the subject of the Toledo War.
As far as Bill's Hill. It may be taller than eight to ten feet, as I said -- but it sure isn't 50 feet tall. I'd be very surprised if it's half that tall.

I'd have to say its closer to 25 feet than it is to 8 feet tall. It's at least a club or two. A 10 foot hill would only be a few feet taller than Metzger, and I'm pretty sure that the hill is big, even by comparison to him. It's not a huge hill, but its gotta be at least 20 feet. I know it's tall enough to write F*** Toledo in big letters.
Here is the best picture of Bill's Hill

...or just making sarcastic comments! In all honesty, I'd say 33' is probably a good guess. Maybe I will go start at the bottom and flip myself over until I get to the top and figure it out later today. With the hypotenuse and 2 angles (90 degrees and the decline), some trig could work that out!Flipper wrote:Some guys just can't help exaggerating the size of things....

The pictures in and around Boise are beautiful. Makes me want to grab my fishing gear and head for Idaho immediately
Thanks 1BoiseBro for sharing the pictures........ it reminds me of Southwestern Virginia and Western North Carolina even though our mountains are "hills" compared to the Rockies.
The pictures on this thread are a great help to me. I live between the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains and people around here have no concept of the flatness of BG. These pictures do a tremendous job of illustrating the terrain around there.
I loved my time at BG but never adjusted to the landscape of NW Ohio. Still, there are definitely some really wonderfully designed buildings in Wood County/BG.
Has anyone here been to another part of the country that was any flatter than BG?
I love these boards even though I don't post much !!!

There is also that beautiful landfill if you go past downtown.BGFan wrote:There actually is another hill in BG....just not near campus. It's called Conneaut Hill and is over by Conneaut Elementary school (corner of Conneaut and Haskins Rd. (SR 64)). It's a dedicated sledding hill for the kids in town and is at least 30 feet high.
