Old School Football Style
OK, thanks to a good friend of my dad's... He's a UT guy... but we won't hold that against him... here's some pretty cool footage of a BG/UT game in the old University Field between where the library and education buildings stand now. I don't know the exact date (because I can't find my media guide) but Dave assures me the final score was 22-20... BG WON!! (if anyone wants to dig out their guide and find the season of the 22-20 BG home victory, I'd love to know!)
Check it out... as with most of my clips, it will require Quicktime to view. It's just about 5MB... so you may want to right-click and save the file to your desktop so you won't ding the bandwidth charges if you want to watch it repeatedly. Thanks!!

VERY COOL!
It was Oct. 19, 1963, Doyt's last home UT game as head coach. BG was 5-0 after that game, beat Kent State the next week, then lost to Miami(OH) at home. Finished 8-2 that year.

That game was in 1963. On the "Doyt Perry, Coach For Life" video, BG trailed that game 20-0 at the half. Perry came in and told the team if they were gonna lose to do it with class. No funny stuff or cheap shots. He motivated that team by challenging their pride as players cuz UT wasn't very good that year and BG went into this game 4-0.
BG rallied to win it 22-20.
That footage is classic stuff!
