Thats cool that you are logging on here before you are even a student. I think that is a testament to the great work done by our humble webmaster Grant Cummings.

This website is helping generate the hype and fan base that is needed to continue the growth of Bowling Green football and athletics in general. Ten years ago, heck, five years ago someone living in Lynchburg would only know of the Bowling Green in VA and possibly in KY because of the 'vettes. It is cool to see the fandom of BG athletics grow and even prosper.

As for your specifics be sure to come by the official AZZ.com area East of the stadium as mentioned and if you would like come say hello to my crew under this flag:

As for tickets for away games- the BGSU ticket office in Memorial Hall always has tickets for road games the week before the contest. It is a good way to make sure you are sitting with other Falcon fans, but as you mentioned probably only necessary for the Miami game- a potential sell out.

take care and good luck!

BGSUVA wrote:Hey all, I'm a newbie here. So glad I found this site. A little bit about me: I live in Lynchburg VA, been here me whole life, but I'll be attending Bowling Green next year as a freshman. Football is my favorite sport, and I plan on going to nine games this year. I'm gonna miss Boise State (can't go out there with classes that day and the next morning) and Buffalo (going home to watch UVA/FSU). I've been a UVA fan my entire life, and traveled to as many of their games as I could in the past (Went down to FSU last year, am going to Syracuse this year). I already ordered my tickets for Wisconsin, just wondering if there are any other games I need to buy tickets for ahead of time, or could I wait till I get to the gate to get them? I was thinking I might buy Miami-Oh tickets ahead of time too.
I'll be coming up for orientation July 6-7. If there are any other incoming freshman on here who are big football fans, and don't have a roomate yet, then let me know.
Where are the best spots for tailgating? Anychance the dorms would let me keep a small propane tank in the dorm for my tailgating?
If anyone could give me a heads up on some traditions here, that would be cool. Also, could anyone list their favorite places to eat in BG, and where are some good places to get some BGSU apparell, other than the bookstore?

One last comment, I noticed that there is someone here from Charlottesville...Were you at UVA's spring game? If so, do you remember talking to me (I assume I was the only one who came up and told you I would be going to Bowling Green). I'm sure it will be nice meeting you guys. If you all do a big tailgating party, let me know and I'll try to come by.

I can already tell its gonna take me a while to get use to the lingo here. What are some of your abbreviations? I'm used to thinking Tennessee when I see UT but I'm guessing that is Toledo...

BGSUVA,

Hey, this is BGSU33 – I'm the one that lives in Charlottesville! Welcome! I actually work at the University of Virginia in the Athletic Media Relations office (right next door to University Hall - the basketball arena). No, I wasn't at UVa's spring football game, I work with the baseball team at UVa so I was busy with them that day. I've been working here at Virginia since 1997 - the year I graduated from BG. I love Virginia and Charlottesville. But I am still, even after nine years in ACC country, a Falcon and MAC fan first and foremost! UVa and C'ville are my second team and home, and I bleed orange, just a different shade than the Wahoos. I catch a lot of grief for being that way. But it's like the old saying – blood is thicker than water. I went to school at BG, I work at UVa. I love the Falcons, and like the Cavaliers.

I hope you have a great time at BG and maybe we'll cross paths sometime.
GO BG!!!
