Sign For Back of Scoreboard
Curiously during my three-day journey into the depths of my garage, I came up with the two logos they floated back in 1996. Ewwww.

I was hoping we would never have to speak of those again. That was a train wreck I enjoyed watching. Poor VPSA...

I somewhat remember one of the designs. Like a black outline of a bird with one wing extended and broken up to show feathers kind of??NWLB wrote:Curiously during my three-day journey into the depths of my garage, I came up with the two logos they floated back in 1996. Ewwww.

Hey now....no need to get personal. It isn't the size of the train it's the exp....huh? Oh, sorry about that.MiamiBando wrote:I didn't know your scoreboard was so tiny!
I'm thinking there will be another board added somewhere on the Sebo Center. Anyone know for certain if another board will be added? That'd be cool.

Come on, POST THEM!! I remember them and the backlash that occured when they were introduced!!!! I wish I would have saved them. Please post them!!!NWLB wrote:Curiously during my three-day journey into the depths of my garage, I came up with the two logos they floated back in 1996. Ewwww.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

a. hide the walkways and unfinished look
and
b. give the outsdie of the stadium the signage it once had and still deserves.
I know it is minimal and sounds like whining after already getting a nice nwe working board, but I wish they would add something to that side of the board. . .
Did you send those to Krebs? If not, I was going to send him an e-mail and link.

Conceivably we could all send him the pics and a link.
We may have an influential voice if we combine resources. Perhaps we could write up a letter and sign it "the inmates of Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com". We have the most rabid fans of BG-dom here. It would stand to reason our combined opinion (based on majority rule) would be heeded on some level by the athletic department.
Thoughts?

I remember helping create the backlash that occurred when they were introduced. Ah, those where the days.
Believe me when I say it, I've found a ton of fun stuff in my personal archives. The logos are on the short list of things to scan, but I'm stuck in Cinncy MTWRF this and next week still. If I get a chance to scan them next Sunday I will.
I also found the stash of Keith Intones old Hockey fanzine and will finally get those posted on my resurrected hockey site. I also found the old SI article on BG hockey, the Hockey History Dr. Cooper gave me awhile before his death. Lots and lots of goodies.

Daktronics Board Panels
The walkways that you see on the backside of the board are indeed for service. I currently work for the Toledo Mud Hens doing video board graphics and helping service the new Daktronics board. Daktronics boards have panels on the back that need to be removeable in order to replace or service modules. The panels are not a flat surface. There are dividers and screws/locks. So maybe that is keeping us from putting a graphic up. The metal could be painted if someone with either a lot of artistic talent, or a huge stencil wanted to do it. Any art majors that want to leave their mark on BGSU in the house? Maybe volunteer.
I do like the design that you came up with though. And I think something simple like that is doable.

I obviously know the panels that constantly seem to be giving M-Ram trouble, but if you look at the BGSU board from the side the walkways have depth. You could put a tarped design around the safety bars that would not hinder the walkways....
