I don't see this happening, gang. Flame me if you want, but I see the Rockets getting on track with a solid - not blowout, mind you - victory.
By the way, if Eastern had to change its mascot, why not pick Emus? They'd get press out the wazoo (how many times have we heard about the UCSB Banana Slugs, etc.?) and it would be a heck of a lot more fun than Eagles. The EMU Emus. C'mon, that's a hoot!
UT at EMU. Can EMU be 2-0 in the mac west

I seem to remember them bringing an emu mascot to a basketball game back in the 80's. I thought it was hillarious in a cool way!1987alum wrote: By the way, if Eastern had to change its mascot, why not pick Emus? They're not just getting hammered, they're getting hammered AND quitting. You don't give up over a point per minute by just playing badly, you do that by going through the motions.
If EMU moves the ball early, it wouldn't suprise me at all to see them pack it in again. I think Coach Doughnut could have a real problem on his hands. They look like a team that has tuned the coaches out.
I think EMU will beat them.

They're not even showing up before getting hammered and quitting. So many people put this team up on the high level but many of us weren't convinced. You gotta have DEFENSE. And UT has NONE. And so far, their offense has been MIA as well. They've scored a grand total of 14 points in the first half this yr....2 td's. Minny is a solid team but if this UT team was as good as they were touting, I'd think they would have beaten Minny and Kansas. Especially Kansas.Flipper wrote:They're not just getting hammered, they're getting hammered AND quitting. I know UT could rise up and win this sat...I just don't see it happening and I think EMU has some fire this yr. 17,000 showed up for the Buffalo game and I wouldn't be surprised if they get 20K for this one. IF that happens, I think our dear lovely rockettes are in big trouble. EMU will feed off a crowd not seen in a long time like Coach Doughnut at Dunkin' Doughnuts.
Plus, it's UT!!!!!!!! It's our rival...them suffering only sweetens the taste for BG football these days. Remember, BG IS THE DEFENDING WEST CHAMP...
and will repeat.
Plus, I remember how badly UT fans hammered us in 2000...
