Sellouts
"People will be needing to buy their tickets in advance," Krebs said. "I believe there will be a very real chance of several sellouts in advance and if people wait until game day they are going to be disappointed." Does Krebs know something we don't??? Most of us are worried about just getting good crowds for some of the games this year, let alone sellouts in advanced. He seems to have a plan to market this team I'm just wondering when it will launched full blown. I hope he is right though and we get 2 or 3 sellouts on the year and really rock the Doyt!

I believe there is some reverse psychology at play here. Tell people that tickets are going to be scarce come game day. That creates an urgency in people's minds. Advanced ticket sales increase.
Very sly.

Agreed. Though hopefully it doesn't backfire to the point of people cancelling plans because they don't think they can wait until Saturday to get tickets. Although even if that's the case, I don't think they'd be any worse off with a strategy like that.Rightupinthere wrote:I believe there is some reverse psychology at play here. No doubt, RUIT. If BG gets off the 3-0 start everyone here is hoping for, watch out. Especially since the Temple game is 10 days after the Boise State game. There is additional time to sell tickets. With the reduced capacity, tickets become scarce.Rightupinthere wrote:I believe there is some reverse psychology at play here. Tell people that tickets are going to be scarce come game day. Krebs and the athletic staff must have some very interesting things in place.
This season cannot start soon enough.

I just re-read my post. Gads. Who am I? Tarzan? "Me Tarzan, you Jane. Make Nice-nice." I apologize for the lapse in writing skills, folks.

We are reducing capacity to the point where our home opener last year (Southeast Missouri, 23,088) was within a few hundred people of a sellout.BGSUVA wrote:Well isn't the capacity going to be reduced significantly this year, which could maybe get us a sellout. I don't really see how the other teams we are playing though would draw a lot of interest, other than Toledo
So -- the horse twitched -- merge the home opener with homecoming, and I think we've got a fair shot for a sell out with Temple.
If that happens, word will get out, and that will goose advance ticket sales for other games. This is a good thing. People who buy tickets will probably use them, and will be less dependent on the weather and other things.
Eventually, this ought to goose season ticket sales.
It already has in a limited sense. I intentionally moved up from the flex plain to a quartet of season chairbacks because I figured demand might be intense this year, especially for the Toledo game.

You just can't beat the value of BG season tickets. And those seats are guaranteed for EVERY game, every year...no matter what. They are still one of the lowest priced season tix plans in the MAC. We have a Top 25 product, title and bowl contending team. And a legit Heisman candidate.
I think Krebs is right....better get the tickets while they're available.
Just the thought of a packed Doyt every week gets me stoked even more. This team and program has earned the support.
