Browns flag change...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Hey all,

As a former die hard Browns fan, I was going thru some boxes last night and found my ole Browns Flag. Now, I'm wondering what might be the best way to get a Falcon logo on the helmet? Iron on? Stitch? It is a thin flag, not a ton of material.

Any ideas would be appreciated...

BTW, with J5 in camp...I am actually starting to follow the Browns a little bit. Can't.....let.....it.....drag....me....back....in.

Go with what's called fusable web. It's available at JoAnn Fabrics or Michael's or anyplace like that. You can cut the Falcon head out, cut out a similar size and shape piece of fusable web and then just iron it... the web melts and fuses the two fabrics together. It's what I used on the ay-ziggy-zoomba.com flag!

Hey thanks, G! Dana's mom is into the whole quilting deal and I know she goes to JoAnn Fabrics all the time. Sounds like a plan!

Can any of you help get ink stains out of a white dress shirt?

I'd try "lifting" the stain out with cold water, PROVIDED the stain hasn't dried. Works great on wine spills, even a full bodied Graves, or a Chateauneuf du Pape. If that doesn't crack it, try soda water.

Someone told me that baking soda, worked into a paste, is terrific for getting rid of those annoying windscreen wiper marks that start appearing about the time you realize you should have changed the blades a long time ago.

You'd be best to see if you can "stitch" over the edges with an electric sewing machine - it makes for a cleaner patch.

That's best if the fabric will support it... the satiny stuff I used for my flag bunched up and snagged when the sewing machine hit it. So I did the binding around the flag w/ the machine and left the letters just fused on w/o the added stitching. Re-enforcing it with thread would be best though!

(greatest football thread ever....)

I usually just dip the whole shirt in whatever caused the stain. I now have shirts in the following colors:

Coffee
Spaghetti Sauce
Yellow Highlighter
Bean and Cheese Burrito

lol, actually, if you're serious, anything with acetone gets ink out really well. Yoink a bottle of nail-polish remover or hairspray from the nearest woman and scrub with it.
