ESPN's Unit Rankings
Backfield:
1. USC
2. Michigan
3. Tennessee
4. Texas A&M
5. Bowling Green
1. USC
2. Michigan
3. Tennessee
4. Texas A&M
5. Bowling Green
Is there anyone else who thinks they have us UNDERRATED?
I mean Omar's better than any QB not named Leinart, and even then I'd say its a wash. He's certainly better than Henne or McNeal.
PJ is every bit as good as any Michigan or UT back...not sure who A&M has.
I guess the only way I can see that they'd be better than our backfield is if they're basing it on depth. Not sure about A&M, but Michigan has some good runners other than Hart, and Henne is back in a batlle for the QB spot. Tennessee had 2 freshman last year that really looked good, and they've always got a good RB or two.
I think on pure starters we should be #2

We are #5 out of 117 D-IA programs and you're complaining they have us underrated?

And your point is? Hamm and I think BG merits a higher ranking. It isn't about being pleased, it is about being accurate.transfer2BGSU wrote:We are #5 out of 117 D-IA programs and you're complaining they have us underrated?

When comparing to those rated ahead of us, you could argue that we should be ahead of them. BUT, there are also teams behind us (not listed) that would argue they should be ahead of Bowling Green. I mean Ohio State has Zwick, Pittman, and Schnitker. Three guys cetainly has to be better than two.

Oklahoma. I could care less what else they have back there, but they have Adrian Peterson. After seeing him in Norman last year, I am a believer, and he was a true freshman. He was just unbelievably fast, strong, and big. As long as he's got an O-Line (which he will... its Oklahoma) he's going to put up huge numbers until the NFL grabs him.
Don't get me wrong, I love the pub, I'm just saying that I think we should be higher. I don't expect to be ranked higher, they think they're doing a great job by just throwing us a bone, I'm sure. My point is that if you look at our Starting RB & QB combo the ONLY one I'd prefer over ours is Leinart & Bush. After that there is no contest.
Omar is the best QB not named Leinart no argument. I think he stacks up about even with Leinart as it is.
Pope is a VERY good RB, and is not any worse than guys like Hart, Riggs, or Houston.
If you're going on the starting 2 alone, then I think BG is number 2. If you look at depth you would put UM with Hart's backups & Gutierrez above BG. You'd also probably put UT with both Riggs & Houston and both QBs ahead of BG.
I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that if you look at it closely I think any team in the country, outside of USC, would take Pope & Omar over who they've already got.
