exactly
That is exactly what is going on here. Young plays for a bigger program and when he beat michigan almost by himself it blew up his status. Omar is by far the better QB and the fans know it. Take a look at what the fans of Oklahoma think about the vince young vs Omar Jacobs comparison:

I am sure Hammb will disagree with me but IMO there is no way Tedd Ginn jr is the 8th best player in college football. He might be a freak of nature athletically but until OSU finds more ways to get him the ball you cannot rate him that high. He is an exceptional returner but until he proves he can touch the ball "10-15 times" like CFN says, he should not be listed this high. He had 25 receptions last year. He needs a lot more than that to be considered this good. I watched the OSU spring game and they sure as heck were not finding 10-15 ways for him to touch the ball.

I disagree with you and I hate tOSU with a passion. Ginn is the biggest game-breaker in the Big Televen if not all of college football. Just watch him this year and you will seekdog27 wrote:I am sure Hammb will disagree with me but IMO there is no way Tedd Ginn jr is the 8th best player in college football. Actually, even as an OSU fan, I think Teddy G. is a touch overrated. He's gotten a lot of heisman hype for a guy who has so few touches.
That said, his touches were electric last year, and the last 3-4 games of the season he was the focal point of that team. He's definitely one of the best 2 or 3 gamebreakers in the NCAA, but I want to see him be the focal point for a few weeks before I start in with the Heisman hype.
He might be the fastest football player I've ever seen. Tons of guys have track speed, he doesn't seem to lose a beat when he's in pads though. Watching him is like watching everyone else run in quicksand.
If they utilize him this season as they did at the end of last year then I think putting him in the top 10 is perfectly justified. But the fact remains that he is still undersized, so I'm curious how his body will hold up to more touches for a long stretch. If he can go an entire season the way he played the last 3-4 games last year then he's probably a top 5 guy in the NCAA.
