I'd rather the Falcons surprise people -- with being the non-BCS darling comes a lot of pressure. I saw a line of BG +3.5 -- that means on a neutral field they figure us and Wisconsin about even. That's pretty cool.

I'm worried, simply because of the circumstances.

Alvarez is resigning as HC which could light a fire under this Badger football team. Everyone is picking us to win. Everyone is praising our QB.

I fear that we will lose solely on the fact that we and everyone else is confident we'll win.

I'm worried, but I'm like that for just every single game we play. But I'll say this much....I'm much more worried about our MAC games, especially the Miami game, than I am against Wisconsin. But heading into the season-opener, I guess the two areas I'm most concerned about are our defense and our kicking game. The other thing I am concerned about is being too confident. Don't get me wrong, having confidence is a must have. It's just with all this preseason publicity, I'm afraid we're going to be caught up in how good we are supposed to be instead of proving how good we really are - on the field. I hope that doesn't happen, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned. I know we hear our coaches won't let that happen, etc., but it's happened twice in recent years - like both trips to DeKalb. After both loses, I couldn't believe some of the comments afterwards about not being prepare for the team we faced. It almost sounded like the same thing the BCS teams we beat in recent years said about us. This year, we will be wearing a HUGE bulls-eye on our back and we must be ready, in all aspects of our game, to take every single team's best shot at us. That's what championship teams face, and I'm anxious to see how we respond to that challenge.

The hype wasn't nearly this big, but we were getting some of it exactly ten years ago.

Ten years ago almost to the day, Ryan Henry was profiled as a potential All-American in USA Today, and the Falcons were being picked by most media to win the MAC. (Probably the last time that happened).

Henry was intercepted six times in our opener against Louisiana Tech, and the rest of the season didn't go so well, either.

I think this team is capable of just about anything.

But we can't be over confident. Footballs take funny bounces.

I'm confident in our guys. Wisconsin will be tough on their home field, and they have some intangibles on their side. I think some people here might be underestimating the whole package.

That being said, I'd trade Wisconsin and Boise to win at Miami and win the MACC.

So would I....in a heartbeat.

I think BG is on a mission and ready to face Wisky...we can beat this team and I think we will, 41-27. If everyone is picking us to win, then we better step up and do it. I'm confident BG will get it done.

I just hope that our team believes that they are a better team. When we feel inferior (OSU 2003, OU 2004) it shows. We don't start playing like we believe we are in the same league until it is too late. I am afraid of that. At Purdue we played like we were their equals from the getgo. If we play our game we should win.

I'm so afraid we'll lose, we should probably just not play the game and focus our attention on Ball State.

Please. We have the horses, and we'll be plenty ready to get at it. Sure, its gonna be a battle, but I have, do and will love our chances in Madison until a scoreboard with 0:00 on it tells me otherwise.

Period.
