Scott M played very well against St Louis

Post by FALCON FLIER »

I watched most of the second half of the game so I don't know if Scott played in the first half but he played most of the second half. In the third quarter he was at right guard and part of the 4th quarter he was at center. I am not an expert and perhaps I watched with a biased eye but I thought he looked very good. San Diego ran the ball very effectively especially to his side. In passing situations I did not see his man get anywhere near the quarterback. I have to think he looks real solid to make the team. Also, Michael Turner, the RB from NIU looked real good. I always like to see any MAC alum do well.

Turner has looked a lot faster this season compared to last season. His 55 yard run was impressive. He has a real shot at being a solid backup and doesn't appear to be in danger from Sproles taking his spot.

Sproles is a situational back (i.e. third-down specialist) at best, IMO.

As for Scott, it looks like he's doing well. As hammb has pointed out, NFL coaches love their backup offensive lineman to play multiple positions and Scott appears to be doing it and doing it well.

It really seems like the line have the hardest times in trying to make it as a starter. Sounds like Scott is doing everything he's supposed to and could very well make the team.
