still just my opinion

Post by old guy »

reality check
Wisconsin, Boise, Miami, Toledo--realistically, BG could lose any one or--given there defense--all of these games. I think it highly unlikely they will win all of them. A good guess--again given their defense-- would be that they will be very fortunate to split the four. (3 of the 4 are on the road--very hard to win.) That would be my guess--2 and 2 in those four games. And again--with their defense--it wouldn't shock me if they lost them all. I would be very, very surprised if they won them all.

if you are really an old guy, then your years of experience should have taught you that people don't appreciate "I told you so's"

I can understand being upset with the results, but a true BG fan shouldn't take this as an opportunity to smirk at the rest of us

You really sound like a douche here, don't know if you realize that, Old Guy. Good call on basically rooting against the team you claim to root for. Congrats.

You are something we should all aspire to.

Agreement

Post by Touchdown Rockets »

I lurk this board somewhat regularly and one thing that always amazes me is the regularity that you guys turn on each other. It doesn't matter to me but I hate to see Rocket fans act that way toward each other. Gladly, it doesn't happen very often. As fans of MAC teams, we aren't blessed with fan bases that Big Ten schools are fortunate to have. I would think that you guys would be better off arguing opinions than calling each other derogatory names.

Anyway, I agree with the original post. Whether some of you want to believe it or not, you need a good defense in order to be a top team.

still just my opinion

Post by old guy »

Where is there anything that roots against BG? I offered a sober and realistic observation. (DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.) Now, when I first offered this observation, I was called all manner of names, such as the comments above, just for offering an opinion. Look at some of the other posts today....and I'm a sorry SOB? What in my post taken from May is more terrible than what Hammb has said today or half a dozen other people. I don't see any of you people calling him names. Hey, I hope BG wins all of their remaining games and I can come back here in November and admit to everyone that I was wrong. But until that happens, remember that this forum is a place for opinions. And quite fankly, if you don't like having opinions thrown back in your face, then you should learn to respect them in the first place. As for you opinions of me, well, I am an old guy and I've been called worse things by a lot better people than most of you--so that doesn't really bother me. I learned a long time ago that name calling is usually taken up by people who have nothing else to say. Have a nice day and go BG.

Your comments are out of line, BO. This is a football game and should not be taken personally. We do NOT eat our own here, regardless of their opinion.

I'm not attacking anyone, and I am certainly not out of line. Again, there is a big difference between calling someone a douche and saying they sound like a douche. Am I fed up with all of the pointless negativity? Of course - but I'm just saying that I disagree with the way he is stating his opinion right now. Completely innappropriate for a fan of this team, in my opinion. I'm sorry if anyone took offense, but I would suggest reading things a bit more closely.

Oh, and I don't eat people. They're too tough for my taste. I prefer crab people. :P

And, given BG's offense, they could still win 3 of 4.
