Curious...is anyone els interested in seeing how WI

Post by MACMAN »

Who els is interested in seeing how WI ends up in the Big 10 this year?

I am because from what i have seen and heard some folks say WI D is non existant and they will finish 6th to 8th in big 10.
I think people are misjuding WI as bad team on D because we tor them up. and not giving WI Offense enough credit by saying we were push overs.

From what I saw, I would be hard pressed to not see WI in the top 4, or not to fisih 3 in the big 10 and to upset OSU or MICH.

Heck, it's quite possible none of them will put up that many.

After seeing their team play, I was totally wrong about them. I thought they would drop off after losing so many players but they've got some talent. Michigan didn't impress me as NIU did very well against their D.

Now I think Wisky could finish in the top 3....especially in Barry's last year. They look to be on a mission. UW was 9-0 and ranked #4 in the country last year until losing to Mich State and Iowa to end the regular season. They lost to Georgia in the bowl game, 24-21.

Michigan at Wisconsin, 9/24, at night???? THAT should be a scene. That will be UW's biggest test in the beginning of the season. They have Temple and North Carolina next and neither of those teams is gonna survive the first half.

They do not play Ohio State, so that helps and their defense will not play another passing attack like ours. They could end up being a darn good team in the B10.

Middle of the road. Its quite likely that no other team will put up 42 on them, but I would bet that nobody gives them even close to 56 again either...hell I'd bet that nobody gives up 40 to them, except perhaps Temple.

They matched up well against us and took advantage. UM's rush defense is very bad as well, but Michigan will still likely win that game. I'd be surprised to see Wisconsin higher than 4th/5th in the Big10. They aren't even close to OSU or Iowa's level, IMO.

What did anyone really learn about Wisconsin?

Defensively, they got to Jacobs a little, but not like last year. Losing Erasmus James and Antaj Hawthorne is going to hurt them. Bowling Green's offense has not come close to putting up those types of numbers against teams with good defenses like Purdue and Ohio State. I think Wisconsin's defense is not very good, but maybe not as bad as BG made them look.

Offensively, they ran the same 4 running plays ad nauseum and weren't stopped at all. Not only did Calhoun run uncontained, but so did Booker Stanley. BG's run defense was so bad that Wisonsin has no idea if their passing game is going to be any good and doesn't really know how well the running game is going to work against a good defense.

Personally, I think they struggle against, Iowa, Purdue, and Michigan, and would struggle mightily if they played Ohio State, but they don't.

Well, Wisky gets Michigan at Camp Randall on 9/24. If Michigan couldn't stop, or even slow down NIU's running game, Wisky will do the same thing to them they did to us (perhaps not nearly as dominating, though). And that is a night game and the crowd will be insane. Wisky also gets Purdue AND Iowa at CR. They travel to Minny and Penn State.

Wisky can beat OSU...until OSU proves they can beat the Badgers, I'll take Wisky. Too bad they don't play each other this year. Heck OSU can't even beat them at the Shoe.
Personally, I hope Wisky wins the Big 10 now....makes us look better. Their schedule is set up pretty nicely.

Yeah it would be nice to look back on this and not feel so bad about it. Time will tell as to how good Wisconsin is.
