I still think they will be middle of the pack in the B11. if I had to guess I'd say fourth or fifth. If Stocco improves a ton over last year and can provide some balance, they might get one of the big boys. Remember, Michy has to go to CR this year. That could be a trendy upset pick since Michigan seems vastly overrated to me.

I read that Calhoun was clocked at 4.29 this summer. They already knew he was gonna be the real deal. I hope Wisky has a GREAT season and I will pull for them every week. The better they are...the better we are. Wouldn't it be great to get to the end of the season with only one loss and that being to a team that goes undefeated in the Big10...hmmmm. And looking at their schedule, it's quite possible. Toughest games are against Michigan, Purdue, and Iowa...with those games at home.
They could win those games as well. UM's rush defense is about on par with ours. Purdue is getting tons of love because they don't play UM or OSU, but I'm not not convinced they're a Big10 Championship type team. Iowa, OTOH, is a TOUGH test. It's at Madison, so that helps, but I'm still betting Iowa beats 'em handily. I expect they'll drop 2 of those 3 when it's all said & done though.BelieveNBG wrote:I read that Calhoun was clocked at 4.29 this summer. They already knew he was gonna be the real deal. I expect UW will lose another game in there as well that doesn't look like one of their "tough" games.
In the end I expect the Big10 to finish:
OSU/Iowa
UM
Purdue
Wisconsin
They are not better than a middle of the road Big10 team. Unfortunately their biggest strength is running the ball...the 2nd most important part of football. Our biggest weakness is stopping the run...the MOST important part of football. They matched up brilliantly against us and used it to their advantage.

so you have Purdue losing to Iowa? and Michigan losing to OSU? i have to disagree on both of those, (but you could have them losing to others)

I expect Michigan to be a whole lot quicker
Their rush defense, except against option quarterbacks, has always been stellar. I expect it to be tough. They usually have a huge nose guard who seems to play half the hame in our backfield and quick linebackers who can run with a guy like Calhoun.
In 1999 they held Ron Dayne to 88 yards. (or about)
Anthony Davis had two 100 yard games against them, but we lost both.
We'll see on the 24th what transpires.

Bring back the Bucky Wagon, and
ON, WISCONSIN!
ON, WISCONSIN!
Yes, it was a joke. UM's defense is a joke for a team ranked so highly, and will cause them to lose a game or three this season, but its not nearly as bad as ours.dduncan wrote:I assume you are joking? It's not a typical Michigan defense, but to compare Bowling Green and Michigan rush defenses is not fair.UM's rush defense is about on par with ours
Still, the lowly MAC dwelling NIU compiled 411 yards on UM...imagine what a real team could do!?
