Hey guys. Newbie here. I'm an Auburn fan and help run an AU board called AUNation. I wanted to share something with you and just so you know, I checked with Ziggy Zoomba first. Didn't want anyone to think that I was spamming you guys. 8)
I wanted to let Bowling Green fans know about a website that's doing something pretty cool. It's called Fanspoll.com and it's basically a way for the fans of all 119 Division 1A schools to vote on a national champion in football at the end of the year.
Here is a brief synopsis of how this came to be: http://www.fanspoll.com/frmFAQ.aspx
The quick version is that they want fans from all of the 119 Div 1A schools. The fans will participate in weekly pick'em contests for that week's games. At the end of the year, the fan from each school that did the best in the pick'em contests will represent their school as a voter in the final poll. It's completely free to register and participate.
I don't have any financial stake in the site. I'm just trying to help spread the word about it. Chevrolet is a corporate sponsor and is giving away a 2006 Tahoe in a drawing and you get an entry just for registering and for each week you participate in the pick'em contest.
We have some BG fans there already, but really want to get good participation from each school, so we need more Falcons.
If you have any questions, I'll answer them the best I can. And if you like what you see, spread the word, especially to some of your conference rivals. Thanks so much!

Why are the below people listed as newcomers of a year for the MAC/Independants in the preseason polls?
Paul O'Hara (RB) Marshall and Travis Barr (LB) Central Florida

Check out our new BGSU hockey site: http://www.bgsuhockey.com
HA! Nice one! I posted that question on the forums there as well, hopefully it gets changed. It'd be nice to see some BG, Miami, or NIU players listed in their place.BGDrew wrote:The same reason people buy Ashlee Simpson CD's, stupidity.

Hmm. I wasn't involved with who was included on those. They probably looked at things like recruiting rankings of players by Rivals.com or Scout.com and also tried to think of who might play right away.
I know Auburn got a stud linebacker, the #1 ranked LB in the country if I remember correctly. He was a 5-star on Rivals and Scout. But he's not in there because though he'll get some playing time, we're stacked with experienced guys at LB right now. He'll probably start next year if he's as good as advertised.
Go over there and educate them!

For those of you who signed up for Fanspoll, the weekly pick'em game is up for Week 1. All you need to do is go to the homepage, www.fanspoll.com, login using the same user ID and password as you use on the forums and it will take you to the Bowling Green team page. There you can make your selections and submit them. Remember, every week that you submit your picks gives you another entry in the drawing for the Chevy Tahoe as well as giving you a chance to represent the Falcon Nation in the final poll.
And if you haven't signed up, there's still time to join up. We'd love to have you.

Re: Pick the 2005 National Champion
Are they also giving away a VERY LARGE ($$$$) LOADED gas card to run the thing?????TitanTiger wrote: Chevrolet is a corporate sponsor and is giving away a 2006 Tahoe in a drawing
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
