Now lets not compare this DC to Urban. After all, Lovett hasn't coached at Notre Dame and wasn't named after a pope.
Shame, shame, shame on you for comparing him to the great Urban Meyer.

If anyone heard or read Coach Loyd Carr's response to his defense's performence againt NIU, you know that its also the head coaches responsiblity to get conerned about what his defense is doing. Now maybe Carr is a defense guy to begin with , but I wish Coach Brandon would be as upset with the d as Lovett showed. Its easy for DC to show distain for a bad defensive performance, cuz thats what he focuses on all the time. Coach Brandon too in the way the speaks , treats the defense as an afterthought. Thats probably the only thing I can't stand about him. Everything else is great.
I would think that the players on defense already know that they (as a unit) did not play well. The coach isn't saying anything that wasn't pretty clear (not getting off of blocks, poor tacking, etc.).
I don't think it's Gregg Brandon's style to coach the team publically through the media. I think he addresses what needs to be addressed on the practice field and in meetings.

Coaches do that?
