Enough about XP's... How were the kickoff's?

Post by patrickbg »

Were the kickoff's getting any deeper, or did we just onside kick everytime?
Even a squib everytime would give us a better chance.

Sorry, if this was posted, I may have missed it.

He nailed some nice kickoffs to the 2 that were tough to return, and one that the guy had to chase to get there. He did kick one out of bounds.

I thought the kickoffs were ok from a kicking standpoint, it was the coverage that looked suspect.

the kickoffs werent very good. Timchenko starts off every kick by pushing it about 25 yards right and then has a slight draw on the end of it of maybe 5 yards. He does this on all kicks... FGs, XPs, and kickoffs. His natural kick is always that much of a push right, and on his 1st XP miss, he actually kicked the ball really well he just did his push to the right. On his 2nd XP miss he over compensated and duck hooked it left. My opinion of him is that he is a really bad kicker and that he may cost us some games down the road. I noticed on the kickoffs Ball St only put 1 guy deep and they cheated him all the way to the left hashmark (which is Timchenko's right) b/c they knew thats where we was going to kick it and they also could have an extra blocker ready. Luckily it didnt cost us too bad, but then again Ball St doesnt have a Ryne Robinson for a KR!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

May I suggest then that he slightly angle his "plant foot" to the left, and also decrease, by maybe 3-4 inches, his stance once he has taken his steps back and begins moving to his left....that should cure most shanks.
