RB Thomas

Post by BGSUFootballFan »

Thomas was great tonight, a lot better than BJ Lane! not to put BJ down but he couldnt get a decent run and had a fumble... but i think this Thomas kid with a little development could easily be as good as Pope. I was very impressed and noticed a difference in our Off when he was out there. It was what you are all used to seeing with Pope in there... much more smooth with him grabbing 5-6yds a carry!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

This Thomas kid is real good! He could be even better than Pope possibly when he's a jr and sr.

I wonder if he can catch?

He had 2 receptions for 28 yards last night. I don't remember if these catches were actuall routes or just little leak passes out of the back feild as a saftey valve. Either way that shows a good sign. I'm sure he doesn't have anywhere close to the hands that P.J. does.

one catch was a beautiful 20yder, that he ran and caught like a WR. The other was sort of a saftey valve dink that he turned into 8yds!

Thomas was solid...39 yards on 7 carries (5.5 yards per carry) and two nice catches as previously noted. I know Brandon is high on this kid.

I still can't wait to see PJ back on the field!!!

Mike,
You may recall when we got a verbal from him last year, I mentioned that I'd seen him play several times in HS and was impressed with his quickness and strength...different type RB than PJ or BJ, a "perfect change of pace" type..... the fact that he's playing as a true frosh would certainly mean that Dan Macon will be RS'd if possible...which would mean TWO solid RB's available next year ...and the yr. after...

RE: the BSU game, I know you were there...I didn't hear much of the game as we were out, but sounds as if the problems we saw at Wisky are still there....allowed yet another RB 100+ yrds, 450+ yds total.... despite the 10 punts you alluded to, which obviously equals 10 stops, still too many breakdowns..... and I, along with many others I assume, questioned not getting a solid kicker in here when the LOI's were announced.... THREE missed XP's in 2 games? Sometimes it's the snap or hold, but not good either way.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
