...decent write up, but what about the offense. Yes, alot of time is spent worrying about the defense, but let's give some kudos to the defense for being able to hold up well enough to help pull out a win on a night when the offense had four turnovers. We have a darn good offense, but let's not put on the blinders when they don't perform up to par. They left our defense in some terrible situations and congrats to the defense for holding Ball State to a field goal when the ball was fumbled in the red zone. Kudos to the defense for scoring at a time that gave us a 2 score lead instead of letting Ball State push down the field for a go ahead score. As a team, BG did not look well. It was an ugly game, but we pulled out the win, so Congrats! The defense needs to not give up the big plays on mistakes and the offense needs to get their edge back and not turn over the ball.

Go BG!!! :supz:

Hmmm....did you see this?

BG piled up 554 yards of total offense (that's 1,085 yards in 2 games) and still couldn't put Ball State away. Was it the defense that was to blame? Could they not stop BSU? Can't be the case. Ball State punted TEN times...TEN. The Cards used 3 big plays of 64, 42 and 23 yards to score 3 td's...the other one was a 1 yard pass. The Falcons picked off Lynch twice and Smith (I really like this kid already) took one to the house that sealed the win. Yes they gave up 454 yards...which is way too many. But when the D needed to come up with the game saving plays, it did. I thought it looked better than week 1 but still has a lot of maturing to do. We did a better job tackling...still needs work but it was better.

I gave the D lots of credit for stepping up.

Beautiful weather, nice size crowd, good game, fireworks and a new Coleman Road Trip Grill that started right up and did one heck of a job on the brats and chops. And the beer was nice and cold...Mmmmmm! Yes, the Freaklings pounded on Charlie the Cardinal. :-)
Freak, I had a great time as well. It was a pleasure hanging out and chatting with your wife, the Freaklings, and you. Thanks again for the brats and job well done on the ring. It was a very nice tailgating atmosphere and I didn't take as much crap as I expected with my daughter wearing a Ball State shirt.

Plus, it's always enjoyable hanging out with DD. Thanks again for bringing down some very necessary, regardless of what my wife says, gear down from BG. DD, any pictures from BSU?

Yes Freak...I can read, but there was no mention of the 4 turnovers. My point is that the defense not only did better this week, but they had the additional task of overcoming the turnovers. I am pointing out that the defense may have been the hero in this game, even though the offense poured on the points. Both sides of the ball can stand some improvement from this past weeks performance.

Sorry I left out that part. And I totally agree that both sides...heck all 3 phases of the game need improvement.

I totally agree. We were lucky to escpape with a win and we better be sharp on all phases of the game to go into Boise and come away with a win.
