I liked it! My 6 yr. old cheers for pee wee football. Last year they were flag cheerleaders, but this year, they moved up to cheer for Division 2 which is 8 & under. Wow! There is a huge difference between the 5-6 yr. olds I saw last year & the 7-8 yr. olds out there last weekend. There are some kids who are freakin HUGE.

Have fun & enjoy the season!

You will have plenty of father-son weekends ahead. When you spend time with them young, they want to spent time with you later.

This past weekend was for Nicholas (the 12 year old/seventh grade) and I as we went to watch the Miami-Central Michigan game after his football practice.

This coming weekend, Sam (the 14 year/High School Freshman) wants me to come to his Cross Country meet and help him with his time splits. He wants to drop his time to under 20 minutes. Realizing of course, I won't be able to talk to him otherwise because....... well..... you know..... ummmm.......girls.

What a great article. I just told Dana yesterday how these BG games are creating memories for a lifetime for the Freaklings...not to mention 2 diehard BG fans for life.

I know they will look back and have fond memories of our times together. I know I already do.

Plus, I must keep my brainwashing at full speed....Grandma and Grandpa in Huron are still trying to push that school in our state capital.

Well stated, Tech!!

'87, that was an awesome article!! :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Thanks all. I hope you're right!

Forgot to mention ... Noah had 12 numbers to choose from for his jersey (one advantage of being the head coach's son is getting first dibs). I saw 24 and figured, well, he wore it last year and it's his favorite number, that's that.

As usual, he surprised me, choosing number 5.

Why 5, I asked?

"Well, Josh Harris wore 5, of course, and he's a great quarterback. The Fabulous Teddy P wears 5 now, and he's our best linebacker. I'm going to play linebacker and quarterback, so 5 is the best number."

How am I going to argue with logic like that? I can't wait to hear what he comes up with when he asks for the keys to the car. On second thought, yeah, I can wait.

How much longer will Noah and you do the father-son football thing? Probably quite a while--My youngest son and I will see you at the OU game and, oh yes, he's 37.

C'mon Dad - spend time with the boy and quit watching those girls 8)

And Freak - Otterbein is actually in Westerville, not Columbus.
